CAS Colours and Sketches #500

Hey there. I am super excited to share with you today that I will be a part of the CAS Colours and Sketches design team for 2023. Do you have all your Christmas cards made? I am as done as I am going to be. So for the CAS Colours and Sketch Challenge I chose to make just a winter card.

I went back to January of 2022 for my inspiration

I started with a white panel that I masked off the circle and blended petal pink ink around the edge and stamped a few snowflakes from the Lawn Fawn, Snow One Like You set. I then peeled off the mask and stamped the critters in basic grey ink and colored with alcohol markers. The greeting is from Simon Says Stamp, Tiny Words set. Using my stamp platform, I was able to bend the greeting around the circle shape. I added some white Wink of Stella for snow inside the circle and mounted the panel to a white, top folding card base.

I hope you will plan on joining us for a look back at the last year's challenges and a chance to win some great prizes!

AAA Birthday Card Challenge #44

Hey there. Well, I have a surprise for you...I will be joining the AAA Birthday Card Challenge in 2023.  I am super excited to join this wonderful team of creative ladies. For our introduction we were asked to create a card with the December theme of embossing.

I started with a natural white, top folding card base that I dry embossed with a holly embossing folder from Cuttlebug. Then I die cut a tag from watercolor paper inking the raised portion of the holly folder with a Pealed Paint ink and lightly misting the paper with water before running it through my die cut machine. then I took a wet paintbrush and moved the moss ink around the holly leaves. Using the splat technique and brown Distress ink to age the tag a bit. When it was dry I added the greeting from SSS Cleanline Everyday set and some red glitter Stickels. Then creating a red glitter hole enforcer and adding black twine I attached to the card front with foam tape.

I am looking forward to the year of fun birthday card challenges and I really hope you will join us because really, we all need to send more birthday cards!!

AAA Cards Challenge #230

Hello. Welcome to our last AAA Cards Challenge for 2022.

What a beautiful mood board for us to play with! I grabbed onto the pink, purple and ornaments for my card.

I used Tree Trim Trio set from Papertrey Ink to create my muti-color tree. I then heat embossed a few of the dots with gold, sparkle embossing powder and added a few enamel glitter dots. Tada...Merry Christmas!

Thank you for spending the year with me creating CAS cards.

Time Out Challenge #228

Hey there. I have the opportunity to guest design at the Time Out Challenges. This is such an honor. We are inspired by a theme and it is Winter/Holiday. I hope you will plan to join us for this challenge.

I started with a white panel that I ink blended a bit of aqua ink then misted the panel with water. The panel was splattered with metallic watercolors. I die cut some snow-flakes from Lawn Fawn out of white cardstock and glued them to the panel. I also cut several layers of red cardstock with the joy die from Lawn Fawn. Then one from red glitter paper. Gluing them all together to create a stacked greeting. I also cut a thin strip of the glitter paper to add to my aqua card base. The small greeting was stamped in red ink from the Bundle Up set, Keri Bradford Studio. I then mounted the snowflake panel to the card base with foam tape.

AAA Cards Challenge #227

Wow. I am feeling like this year has gone crazy fast. Here we are almost November with a new AAA Cards Challenge.

This is a anything goes challenge but I grabbed onto the black, white and spooky. I started with a white panel that I stamped the greeting and image from Simon Says Stamp Handlettered Halloween in black ink. Then mounted it to a black card base after adding a black, glossy Nuvo drop to the spiders body.

Bold Birthday

Hello and happy fall to you! After being in a tractor cab for the last month I got a chance to create today. I have missed this so much. Today's card is for the Altenew Inspiration Challenge. We are to make a birthday card with a bold background.

I started by blending the ink colors across a white panel then spritzed the panel with shimmer spritz. Then cut the panel in 1/4" strips, gluing them down with a stager. I then trimmed the panel down and added some foam tape to the back of blended panel. This technique in quilting is called Bargello.

I stamped the Captivating Blooms floral image with black ink over my panel. Then stamped the greetings from the Dotted Blooms set on two white strips to create tags. They were tied to card front with black embroidery floss. Using the Martha Stewart butterfly punch, I created some from vellum butterflies for accents. I finally added some glitter glue drops and mounted to a top-folding white card base.

This card turned out so well. I was pleased the results. The pictures to not do justice to the intensity of the colors. Thank you for stopping by, Sue.

AAA Cards Challenge #226

Hey there. Today we have a new challenge on the AAA Cards Challenge blog. This is my favorite kind of challenge, a sketch.

My card uses a favorite technique of mine, ink layering. I like to create depth by layering intensities of ink. I used The Stamp Markets' Double Take set to create a one-layer card. Starting with the bold thanks I used 3 colors of ink, blending them by using my stamp platform. Then layered the navy ink greetings over the bold thanks.

I hope you will plan on joining us for the fun sketch challenge. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

AAA Cards Challenge #225

Hey there! Today's card is for the latest AAA Cards Challenge. We are working on the 1/9th grid again with gnomes as our optional twist. Now I do not own a gnome stamp so I went seasonal with a ghost.

Now if this card doesn't scream CAS, I don't know what does. LOL. Top folding white card with the ghost from Provo Craft stamped in black ink. I then heat embossed the greeting in gold detail powder and added yellow Nuvo drops to his eyes.

Thank you for stopping by, Sue.

Pretty in Pink

Hey there. I had a request for a hot pink, floral retirement card. So... I got busy watercoloring a few panels in shades of pink and green. I did a bit of splatter with gold, metallic watercolors then let the panels dry.

Using the Altenew Fantasy Floral die I cut the rose and leaves from the watercolor panels. I also cut a tag from a metallic gold card stock, popped it up with a bit of foam tape and glued on the rose/leaf cluster.  I trimmed the final panel and adding a bit of washi tape in a metallic gold dot. Then heat embossed with gold detail powder to a strip of vellum using a Congratulations sentiment from Papertrey Ink. I tucked the vellum greeting in the leaves and secured to the background panel with tape on the back. After adding the pink baker's twine to the tag, I attached the panel to a white top-folding card base with more foam tape. My matching envelope was made with my score board from some double-sided scrapbook paper.

I will enter the card in the following challenges:
(Sparkle and Shine)
(Card and Envelope)
