MFT Color and Sketch Challenge

Hello from the frozen state of Iowa. Our high today is -8. Beauty heh? This just makes for a great day to stay in and stamp. :) For today's card I started with the My Favorite Things color challenge.
Then I used the sketch to help pick my image to stamp. It is a very old Stampin Up stamp. Part of the entering challenges is to build up the different companies stamps. I was a demonstrator for SU for 10 years. I would like to branch out. I liked the idea of the sketch where you can use one small stamp and get big impact by repetition. I did rotate the sketch 180 degrees.
So I stamped the image three times in each color of ink, trimmed them out and sprayed them with Shimmer Spritz.  All the cardstock is 110 lbs white.
The presents are mounted with either one, two or no layers of foam tape to give dimension.

I will also enter it in the SSS Wednesday Anything Goes and the SSS Monday Party challenge.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

PTI December 2017 Blog Hop

Hello. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was good. We had a lot of family time. I wanted to participate in the blog hop ever since they posted this beautiful inspiration photo.
For my card I started with a piece of white Stamper Select cardstock and lightly traced a heart shape in pencil. Then I used the Mini Blooms set to stamp the wreath using various pink and green inks. I erased the pencil lines and trimmed the wreath out. Sprayed the cut wreath with Shimmer Spritz and mounted it to a white A2 card base. I then die cut the banner from Concord and 9th from both green and white cardstock. The greeting is from the Keep it Simple series. Greeting is popped up with fun foam and mounted over the wreath.

I am also going to enter this card in the Where Creatively meets C9 Concord and 9th challenge. Really feel the banner takes center stage.

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Party Stamping

Merry Christmas eve to you! Several days have gone by since I have been able to put ink to paper. I think I was going into withdrawal. Lol. Well with Christmas cards in the wraps I thought I might do some birthday stamping. I made  three birthday/party cards with lots of sparkle.

This starts with some 110lbs white cardstock that I stamped with Wonky Backdrops by Ellen Huston. Then sprayed the stamped pieces with Shimmer Spritz and die cut the letters. I also die cut the same letters from white glitter cardstock. Off set the letters and mounted them to a white 110 lbs cards base.

This card also started with a 110 lbs card base. Stamped the balloon from Concord and 9th's Hi There Bear set in Versafine black ink. Then stamped the balloon in various Stampin Up inks. Colored over the balloons with Wink of Stella. Celebrate greeting is from Honey Bee Stamps. I made some of the strings a little longer with a black journaling marker. One layer.

This card started with a WPlus9 printed vellum. I had never done that from a digital file before. I mounted the vellum onto white 110 lbs cardstock. Stamped the greeting from Essentials by Ellen in Versafine black ink and heat embossed in clear detail powder. Filled the crown with Glossy Accents and sprinkled glitter over it. I then mounted the panel to a black A2 card base with black fun foam to pop the panel up.

Several of these cards will be entered in the challenges listed below:

Get Well Soon Overload

Happy Saturday to you. I was playing with my new Lawn Fawn set and couldn't quit. That little bird and bandaid have stole my heart. When I was a Stampin Up demonstrator I would take one stamp set and see how many different cards I could make with it to show the versatility and give them ideas.
That is kind of what I did today.
I was working in a few challenge ideas too.
Images were stamped on 110lbs cardstock with Versafine ink and colored with colored pencils and markers then die cut. Then they were coated with Glossy Accents.

Bandaid was stamped in blush ink on blush cardstock. I also stamped the image on cardstock weight vellum and heat embossed with clear detail powder. Covered the back side with markers. Added some sequins and Nuvo drops for sparkle. Mounted the panel to an A2 blush card base with fun foam to pop it up.
Stamped bandaids on white cardstock. Greeting is stamped in Versafine ink and clear heat embossed. Die cut and stamped bandaid on pink glitter paper and clear embossed also. Popped up glitter bandaid with foam tape.
I used my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform to position the words down the front of this card. Bird is colored with markers and popped up with foam tape.

Greeting was stamped at an angle using post-it tape. Bandaids and birdie are popped up with fun foam. Band aids are liberally coated with Wink of Stella.

Close up to show the sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Hidden Rainbow

Hey there. Have you ever started a card and the finished product is nothing like you imagined?
So the tag challenge was to create a Christmas tags with a rainbow color way. I took my distress inks and blended over a Strathmore Bristol panel.

Great start right? Well from there it took a dark turn. I had seen Kristine Werner do a fabulous night sky look by blending Distress oxide ink over her rainbow panel. With a little water her colors popped right through the black. Well my brand new pad was dry when I opened it and I had to rub the pad very hard across my paper to get any color down. I the took some snowflake stamps, spritzer them with water and stamped. Blotting up the black as I went. Not much change. So I spritzer the whole panel with water but my colors still didn't come through very good.  I finally heavily sprayed the panel with Shimmer Spritz. I die cut the pine boughs from Tim Holtz and the greeting from Echo Park from 110lbs cardstock. Used Matte Medium to attach them.

It is quite pretty in real life but the rainbow is pretty faint.  Thanks for stopping by and listening to me ramble, Sue.
I will also be entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Christmas/Winter Holiday and Wednesday Gift It challenges.

Hey there. It has been a while since I posted. Between using my Instagram account and a family funeral very little stamping has been done. Tonight's project is for two challenges.
I used a set from Papertrey Ink called Candycane Christmas and Bold Diagonal Stripes background from My Favorite Things. Cardstock is from Papertrey Ink and ink is from Stampin Up.

PTI November Blog Hop

Hello. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving or maybe you are still celebrating this weekend.
We had a nice family time on thursday.
My card today brings to mind the thanksgiving spirit. I am joining the Papertrey Ink November Blog hop. The photo below was our inspiration. I stamped a kraft panel with pumpkin colored ink and a buffalo check background then used a stripe from Super Stripes to over stamp with white pigment ink. Trimmed the panel down and layered on a panel of black cardstock. From the Count Your Blessings set I stamped and embossed the beyond measure on a scrap of black cardstock in white detail powder. Also die cut the blessed from the coordinating die set out of black cardstock. The white hexagon panel was a die from Concord &9th that I cut and mounted the blessed to. The ribbon is hem tape that i died with kraft reinker. Mounted it to the stamped panel with foam tape and added everything to an A2 white card base. Sorry that was a lot of directions and i wonder sometimes if they even get read or do people just look at the pictures. Lol.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Celebrate Tree

Hello.  This was a quick ink blending Christmas celebration card. I started with a Bristol panel and masked off a tree shape and blended some Distress Ink in the masked area. I then diecut the star and celebrate from the panel. I also diecut several more from white cardstock. Stacked and glued the die cuts.
I was also following the Less is More challenge where we were to CASE Susan's card below.

And the My Favorite Things sketch challenge.
Finally the Celebrate challenge at AAA Cards.

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Plaid Trio

Hey there. I was working on my final cards for my "30 Days of Christmas" cards over on my Instagram page.  I thought it might be fun to throw in a few challenges too.  Most of the cards are based off of the buffalo check background stamp.

Sorry no instructions for the cards tonight. Just some eye candy. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Inspired by a Snowflake

Hello. Papertrey Ink is having a Create With Us challenge were their designers made a card and you create one also inspired by their project. Below is Betsy Veldmans's card.
She popped her snowflake up with colored fun foam.
Here is my card.

I used royal blue fun foam. Next time I might use two layers of foam so the color is more visible. Stamps, cardstock and dies are from Papertrey Ink. Ink is Distress Ink.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.
