Celebration Balloons

One more quick card tonight. I was playing with My Favorite Things color challenge and Simon Says Stamp anything goes challenge.

I started with Strathmore watercolor paper and stamped the soft grey dots in the background. Then the small balloons with Distress Ink. I used a water brush to smooth out the color on the balloons. Stamped the celebrate and clear embossed over the blue ink. I then drew the balloon strings with a fine black marker and used Glossy Accents over the balloons for shine.  Last I mounted it on a soft grey card base.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Congratulations

Happy Friday to you all. Congrats you made it to the weekend. Tonight's cards were for a sketch and color challenge at My Favorite Things and a die cut challenge at CAS-ual Friday's. Also entered in the Simon Says Stamp anything goes challenge.

This is the first card I made using a soft grey cardstock base with die cuts out of watercolor paper for the focal point and a teal cardstock for the greeting. I used the sketch palette and Distress Inks to complete the colors. Finally I added the Nuvo silver drops for accent.
The second card I wanted to try the clear Nuvo drops for a less dramatic look.

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

PTI July Blog Hop

This is kind of down to the wire but I got home from running errands and thought of a quick card for the blog hop. It uses the March stamp from the Year of Psalms series. I copper embossed the verse on PTI white cardstock then stamped the feathers in two shades of blue ink from Stampin Up. This is our inspiration picture.

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Dad's Birthday

Well this should be it for tonight. You know how I like a great challenge or three. Lol.  This card uses no stamps which was the challenge on the Less is More blog tonight #338.
I also wanted to play with the My Favorite Things sketch #342 and color #73 challenges.  Also I wanted to enter this in The Simon Says Stamp "You've Got the Edge" challenge.
My card started with a soft grey base. I cut out the collar point and used a Cutter Bee tool to make the dashed lines to look like stitching. The tie is paper pieced with teal and coral cardstock. I then cut the happy from the same teal cardstock and birthday out of white cardstock. Then backed it with black cardstock. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Seasons Blessings

Hey all, a quick little Christmas card for you with a very sparkly tree.  I started with some white cardstock. I die cut the tree shape with Papertrey Inks Christmas tree change up die. Then stamped the greeting from Stampin Up in Versamark and heat embossed it in silver. Backed the tree with window film and made a shaker pocket with Scotch foam tape. Filled it with silver stars and glass beads. Closed the shaker with DCWV glitter paper. Mounted the panel on an A2 white card base.
This will be entered in the CAS-ual Friday's  Christmas in July and the Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday sparkle challenge.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Birthday Wishes: Wheels

Playing with a few challenges on this perfect
summer evening.
Addicted to CAS #116 was a challenge with wheels and the Make it Monday #292 challenge was to use color blocking in the background.
I started with a piece of Strathmore watercolor paper. I inked a clear stamp block with PTI mint julep, tropical teal and stormy sea inks. Misted it with water and pressed the block onto the watercolor paper. It did not blend really well so I took a water brush and tried to move the color a little more. I then dried it with my heat tool and stamped the bicycle from Hero Arts and the greeting in Smokey shadow ink.  Greeting is from the set Ways to Say: birthday from PTI.  Finally I mounted it on a A2 white card base.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Party Time

Hello, Ellen Hutson is having a July Pin-Sights challenge with this picture as our inspiration.
Now that just screams fun. So my card has a party hat complements if Tim Holtz colored with Prisma colored pencils and a Papertrey Ink shaker filled with glass beads and tiny butterfly pink sequins to give the receiver a big party type smile.
Papers are from a Basic Gray Urban Praire pad.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Christmas in July

Hey there, This will be my first Christmas card of the year.  I am still trying to perfect the watercolor techniques with Distress Ink.  This was all stamped on Canon watercolor paper.
I stamped the Beautiful Blessings:Holiday greeting in waterproof black ink then again just below it with Vesamark ink. Clear embossed it for a drop shadow effect. This was for the PTI Make-it-Monday #291 resist shadow challenge.  I used red and green Distress Ink to watercolor over the greeting creating a diagonal line for the Reverse Confetti #50 sketch challenge. I did cut the rectangle panel with  Spellbinding die and popped it up with some foam tape. To enforce the diagonal line I stamped the SU bayberry sprigs in white ink and embossed them. Lastly I am entering this in the CAS-ual Friday's CFC#178 Chistmas in July challenge. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Clean and Simple HB

Hi again, Tonight I thought I might try a sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.
The sketch was picked by the "clean team" so I tried to make my card as clean as possible.  Started with a 4.25" square card. Impressed 2 Spellbinders dies at an angle and die cut PTI candles in the center of the squares. I backed the candles with an old Stampin Up background paper. Flames with yellow cardstock and glossy affects with glitter.
Lastly I cut a banner and stamped a PTI birthday greeting in orange and mounted it with foam tape.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Sparkle and Shine

Hello, I had a bunch of leftover card pieces on my desk and wanted to put them together. I will enter this on the Simon Say Stamp Work it Wednesday challenge for July. We were to "bling it up".
I used watercolor paper and Distress Ink for the background. Die cut and layered several white cardstock "shine" together to give it thickness then glittered it.  I die cut the "BRIGHT" from mirrors cardstock. Added some glitter dots and some drops of Glossy Accents across the panel. Last I mounted it to a light gray A2 card. Thanks for stopping by!

CFC177 Tic Tac Toe

CAS Friday's has a challenge using this board.
I chose the bottom row.  I am not sure how "clean and simple" a rainbow, shaker card with texture can be but here it is...
Thanks for stopping. Happy stamping!

Less is More #336 &337/AAA Cards Challenges

Hello, so these card challenges were for a single layer card with a colored base and a card that spoke of summer. I started with a lavender base and with lavender ink stamped PTI text background staggered out.  Then stamped the Peonies in Versamark and embossed with clear detail powder. I also did this with the happy birthday greeting. Last I just added some watercolor highlights on the flower and leaves.  It was quick and easy with a "wow" effect.
Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping.

Create with PTI

I got lost along the way but I am back and trying to get back in touch with my stamping self. Desided a good ole Papertrey Ink challenge might be a good start so here we go. I used the Cover Up: Diamonds by Dawn McVey as my inspiration.

I white heat embossed the PTI wood grain background on white cardstock then used Distress ink over it with a blending tool. I tried to drop some water on the ink to get a reaction but I think it was lost in the wood grain. Trimmed panel and mounted it to a white card base. Stamped the greeting in dark brown ink and mounted over embossed panel. Last I just added a few glitter dots.
Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping.
