Simple Foliage

Hello, So there is no excuse for my absence but I will give you one anyway.  We are harvesting our crops.  It will be good to have this very dry year behind us.  God has truly blessed us with a decent crop in spite of the no rain in July and August.  So on to the cards for tonight.  The first card is for the "Less is More" single layer foliage challenge.  I used PTI white cardstock, Stampin Up dye ink and stamp sets from PTI also.  The aqua splashes are made with some white craft paint thinned with water and colored with reinker. Then I put it in a mini mister bottle and spritzed the card.

The second card is going to be entered in the Embellish Trees Color Challenge.  I used the PTI white cardstock and stamps.  Swirled the pale yellow with a sponge in the background to give the effect of the sun shining through the branches of the tree.  Mixed up the aqua paint to spritz across the card and mounted it all on a white base card popped up with foam tape.

The photo and colorway I used for inspiration is below.

Thanks for stopping by!  I will try to do better at posting this week.

  2. I love the subtlety of the sun in the background. And what a good idea to spritz with white as it gives a super texture to the leaves.

  4. These cards are very clever. I love what you did with the paint spritzing and the swirl of yellow in the background. I'm glad you were able to get your crops harvested--where I am, everything pretty much burned up. :(
