Time Out Challenge

Hey there. I am doing a little guest designing over on the Time Out Challenge blog today. I am always super honored to be ask to do this. Today the new challenge is posted and they are challenging us to be "PEACEFUL".

When I first saw the peaceful I think about winter snowfall. The blanket of snow outside and me all toasty inside. So I thought of a Christmas card. The word peaceful made me thing about Christmas too. Although as I am writing this the world in general could use a blanket of peace.

My first card uses the For A Child set from Unity Stamps. I stamped the image in Versafine black ink on 110 lbs, white card stock and trimmed it to 3" by 4". The mounted it to a slightly larger piece of black card stock. I used my sewing machine to stitch across the top and then mounted it to a top folding, kraft card base.

My second card started with a white card stock panel that I die cut the village scene and the greeting. Then gluing it to a kraft panel the same size and inserting the village die cut back into the cut out. I then mounted the panel to black card stock, trimming to leave a narrow boarder and using black fun foam I mounted the panel to a top folding, kraft card base.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I hope you will join us and create your own "Peaceful" card.

  1. We are honored to have you as our GD and as you know I am always inspired by your cards and these 2 are no exception! I love your take on our challenge and can't believe I didn't even think of this-love it when we all have different ideas. The first card is so full of the peace of Christmas and love the black and white image and the text inside. And wow to the second. So intricate but yet so detailed and the use of colour also gives a feeling of peace. So pleased to have you join us x

And I love the simplicity of the silhouetted images. Love the die cuts on the second, adn the white on kraft color scheme. I always love seeing your art, and it is a joy to have you designing with us.
