Hey guys, there is a new challenge up on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog. It is my very favorite kind of card, Clean and Simple.
My card started with Neenah Desert Storm card stock cut into a top folding card base. I then used the Snarky Mix & Match Messages from Hero Arts to stamp the greetings with four colors of ink. Then masked the greetings and stamped the stripes. This was simpler by using the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform. Finally I used some Nuvo Crystal Drops for an accent. The color of the drops didn't show up so I colored them with a tan permanent marker.
My hubby was giving me a hard time about how plain my first card was. So that is like a challenge for me to step my game up a little. My second card uses Tim Holtz watercolor paper. I started by using the smooth side of the panel and stamping out the greeting from the same Hero Arts set in Versafine black ink. The cake plate and candles are from the Birthday Wishes set from The Stamp Market also stamped in black ink. Then I took watercolor pens and painted in the rainbow stripes. I added a little yellow and Wink of Stella to the candle flames. I trimmed a little off of my panel and mounted it to a top folding, A2 black card base. This technically is not CAS but I wanted to show you options for the Hero Arts Snarky Mix & Match Messages.
There is a $50 dollar Simon Says Stamp voucher up for grabs by entering your own Clean and Simple card on the Wednesday Challenge.

Wonderful CAS cards Sue! You definitely nailed the CAS & I did laugh at the sentiments.
ReplyDeleteWhenever my hubs used to offer his opinion on my cards I would tell him to show me how much better he can do & needless to say he keeps quite now hahaha xx
Such fun cards, I love the kraft one, really like the colours and those snarky sentiments! Cathy x
ReplyDelete2 great designs - one CAS and masculine the other so bright and colorful - love those snarky sentiments!
ReplyDeleteI like both of them for different reasons. I like the top one because it’s a nice, CAS, masculine card and I love the colors of the bottom card. Both are lovely clean and simple designs.
ReplyDeleteThis is Karen Bull a design team member from A Blog Named Here and oh what fun has Crafter's Choice has been! This is a wonderful creation and thank you so much for playing along this month!
ReplyDeleteNice work with simplicity. Both cards are great but I prefer the second one.
