CASE Study #75

Okay, last one for tonight.  Really it was only four cards.  Can you tell I like a challenge???
The card above is mine and the one below was created by Jen Rzasa as our inspiration.  I was always told that when you copy a card to give credit where credit belongs and change at least three things to make the card your own.  So that being said I changed the twine to cardstock, added buttons in place of the knots and changed the greeting.

Okay I am out of here,
Sentimentally Sue.

Play Date Cafe #116 and Card Patterns#149

Hello, hope your weekend is off to a great start.  Mine is because I have gotten a chance to stamp tonight.  The Play Date color challenge was great colors to work with although they don't show up the best in my pic they are great in person.  The scallop circles are die cut from eggplant, the butterflies, greeting and dotted stripe are navy and the green is kiwi.

The Card Pattern Sketch went together really quickly and was fun to work with.
Cardstock: White(PTI), colors(SU)
Ink: Stampin Up
Stamps: lace(Gina K), greeting(PTI), circle(7gypsies)
Extras: Punch(Martha), Dies(Spellbinders)

Back after a bit,

CAS-ual Fridays #37 and ColorQ #121

I had seen Julie Ebersole use this technique where she embossed the flower on kraft cardstock with white embossing powder then just color with markers.  I loved the look.  The last step is to take a Copic W1 and outline the flower to create a shadow.
I wanted to enter this in both challenges.  The fabric in the Color Q challenge is beautiful but I was a little worried that it might come off Christmasy.  Hopefully it didn't.  The sketch was a great one and will be used agin by me.

Cardstock: Stampin Up
Ink: Stampin Up
Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Extras: Button(?), Ribbon(Micheals)

MIM #50 Shaker Card

Happy Friday to you!  I had not made a shaker card for so long.  Like about six or so years.  The invention of using a die has made this process ssooo much easier.
I was going for clean and simple.  I have really liked the cards with all the white space lately.  I used tiny glass beads for my shaker.  I tried to take a close-up picture below to show the beads and the dimention of the grass layer.  The grass is stamped with my woodgrain stamp from Papertrey Ink.

Cardstock: Papertrey Ink
Ink: Stampin Up
Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Extras: Die(PTI), Ribbon(Micheals), Glass Beads(SU)

Have a warm and safe evening.  I will be back later with another card.

Hello!  So this is a card I made up at Christmas to sell.  It was one of my favorite designs of this year but not very easy to mail with the snowman pin.
The second card is the one I made today for the blog hop.  We were to use a project that we liked from last year to make something new today.  This ones has a Valentines spin to it.

Cardstock and Background Paper: Papertrey Ink
Ink: Rose Red(SU)
Stamps:Papertrey Ink
Extras: Button and Dies(PTI), Ribbon(Seam Binding), Pins(JoAnns)

Last one for today...well two.

This was the quickest card ever.  It is for the CAS-ual Friday #36 challenge.  Just punched some squares from black and white background paper, rounded some of the corners off and stamped a greeting.  Done!  The challenge was to only use black and white on your card.
Cardstock: White and Background paper(PTI)
Ink: Papertrey Ink
Stamps: Papertrey Ink

Then to the Case Study #74 challenge.  I just colored the background paper images with colored pencils.  Done!

Extras: Colored Pencils(Crayola)

Well there is cleaning to be done and some cooking also.  So since the maid is off (hahaha). I better get to it.  Have a great weekend!

Simon Says and a Tuesday Trigger Card

Good afternoon!  This card was made for a sketch challenge on the blog Simon Says and a Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger challenge. The sketch and trigger are both shown below.  The Tuesday Trigger had the great "poofs" that I tried to recreate in the flowers stamped on both the tag and the bannana background.  So the general color choices came from the "poofs" also.  The yellow in person is very soft but in the picture it comes out a little to strong.  Sorry.
Cardstock: Stampin Up
Ink: Blush and Bannana(SU), Tea Dye Duo(PTI)
Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Extras: Dies(PTI), Punch and Twine(Martha), Ribbon(SU)

I guess I will have to work on my picture taking skills or get a better camera.

MIM #49 round 2

Good morning!  I have the prettiest snowglobe out my living room window this morning. Wind is not really blowing at this point so it is okay but if it does it will be a white out.  I think we have got at least 6 inches overnight.  Okay, enough of the weather let's get stamping.  I wanted to try the Ghost Masking technique one more time.  I know this is a really pale color so I did a close up picture below so you could see the detail.

Cardstock: White, Chocolate and Aqua(PTI)
Ink: Papertrey Ink
Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Extras: Button and Twine(PTI)

Talk to you later.

MIM #49 Ghost Masking

The Ghost Masking was another thing that I had never done before.  You stamp the frame image then mask off that area.  Stamp the houndstooth background. Then mask off the background.  Ink the houndstooth again and stamp on scratch paper first so the ink is half strength, then on to the card lining it up with the previous stamped image.  Lastly I stamped the greeting over everything.  Sounds a little confusing.
Cardstock: White(PTI), Orange(SU)
Ink: Black(PTI), Kalidacolor(SU)
Stamps:Papertrey Ink

Fun stuff will have to try a few more tomorrow.  Nite, nite.

Mojo Monday 224

Hi again!  This was a brand new technique for me.  I stamped the flowers with Pallet black ink, then colored the flowers and leaves with colored pencils and then blended the colors with Undo sticker remover. It was really fun to see how the colors moved and blended together.  This was for the Mojo Monday sketch.
Cardstock: White and background paper(PTI), colored(SU)
Ink: Black(Pallet Hybrid),Green and Pink(SU)
Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Extras: Colored pencils(Crayola),ribbon(HobbyLobby), Dies(PTI)

I wanted to do a little spin on the "V" banner strips by using leaves in the place of the "V's".  Well that is all for tonight.  Happy stamping!

Map to Your Heart Challenge

Good morning!  I have two projects to show you today.  Although they are both in the one picture.  The background is a stretched canvas that I decoupaged a road map to, then used red embroidery floss and stitched out a heart around where we live.  I have an old wood barn ladder hanging horizontally in my living room that I change out the decor with the seasons.  Sometime I will share a pic with you.  Well that is where the canvas sits between the rungs on the ladder.
The other is a card that I made to highlight where we live in a Valentine.  The greeting is computer generated and trimmed down to fit.  Hope you enjoyed the Moxie Fab Challenge!

Cardstock: Papertrey Ink, old road map
Ink: Papertrey Ink
Stamps: Papertey Ink
Extras: Twine(PTI), Button(Hobby Lobby)

Good day to you,
Sentimentally Sue.

CASE Study #73

Hello again,  One more card for tonight.  Have you ever held on to something for a long time then when you finally use it you wonder why you had been hanging on to it?  The heart images in the windows were from a Rebecca Sower "Fresh Cuts" page that I have had forever.  I thought they would make cute images in the windows of this card.
This card is for a challenge that the card below was our inspiration.  I liked how clean it was with a punch of color.

Sweet dreams people and thanks so much for all your kind comments!

Ink:Papertrey Ink
Stamps:Papertrey Ink
Extras:Circle Punches and Eyelets(SU), Twine and Border Punch(Martha), Buttons(HobbyLobby)

Papertrey MIM#48(2)

Next I used my Large Rickrack border die to weave the background.  I used Aqua, Moss and Berry cardstock.

Cardstock: White, Moss, Aqua and Berry(PTI)
Ink: Papertrey Ink
Stamps:Happy Day(PTI)
Extras: Dies(PTI), Ribbon(SU), Button made with Shrinky Dinks.

Goodbye, Sentimentally Sue.

Papertrey Passion MIM#48

Happy Saturday to you!  I thought I would throw in 2 more Make-it-Monday challenges for the week.  Again we were to use border dies to make a background.  I die cut the heart border out of the red cardstock and used the pieces I cut away for my background.  I used the heart strip to get even spacing between the relief pieces when I glued them down to a confetti white cardstock.  Mounted it to a piece of Spring Moss cardstock.  Then diecut the large heart die from Heart Prints die set.  Lastly mounted it to a Blush pink 4.25 by 4.25 card base.  Tied a scrap of pink ribbon through the die cut hole.  Accented with a button.

Cardstock: Moss and Blush(PTI), Red and White(SU)
Ink: Red(SU)
Stamps:Papertrey Ink
Extras: Dies, Button, White ribbon(PTI), Pink ribbon(SU)

I also will enter this in the Passion for Papertrey challenge.  Enjoy your evening.  We are off to go bowling and supper for my hubbies birthday,

Hello, This was a fun card to create but then aren't they all.  I just keep thinking if I could only have a job doing this I would be a happy girl.  Not that I am not happy already.  Just would be fun to make money doing something that you love this much!  I wanted to enter this one in Card Patterns Sketch #147, Simon Says Stamp "dots and stripes" and A Passion for Papertrey "Valentines" challenges.

Cardstock: Poppy, Aqua,White and Kraft(PTI)
Ink:Poppy, Chartruce, Aqua, Black and Tea Dye Duo(PTI)

Challenges New Stuff and CQC #119

Last challenge for the night.  Simon Says Stamp has a challenge for something new using Cuttlebug products.  I thought this would be a wedding card with a new relationship for my "new".  I also tried the ColorQ #119 challenge.  I did mess up and used Basic Gray in place of Going Gray but feel either color will work.

Cardstock: White(PTI), Pink, Pumpkin, Grey and Melon.
Extras: Dies and Embossing Folder(ProvoCraft), Heart Dies(PTI)

Off to my class for tonight.  Take care,
Sentimentally Sue

MIM #48, Moxie Fab die cuts and CAS34

Yes, I am still in the Valentines mode.  I wanted to create a "Clean ans Simple" card with a die as my background.  The tag is chip board that has been stamped and triple embossed.  I used the heart border die from Papertrey to create the background.  I die cut some acetate with it so that the background is subtle.
Cardstock: White and Acetate(PTI), Confetti White(SU)
Ink: Papertrey Ink
Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Extras: Twine(PTI), eyelet(SU)

Thanks again for stopping by,
Sentimentally Sue.

MIM #48 and Mojo #223

Hello again.  I took the Mojo sketch and slid it around a little.  I thought that a vertical greeting would be a fun change with these bright colors.  I also used the ticket die again to create a whimsical background for the MIM challenge for Papertrey.  My goal was a birthday card that didn't say "Birthday" on it.
Cardstock: White and Aqua(PTI), Guava(SU)
Ink: Chartreuse and Aqua(PTI), Guava(SU)
Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Extras: ticket die(PTI), ribbon(Hobby Lobby)

Hope you all have a great afternoon!

Make-It-Monday #48/Moxie Fab Die Cuts

Hello!  Hope everyone is doing well.  We are having unbelieveable weather in the midwest.  We have had 2 days in the high 50's within a week.  My lilac bushes are budding out.  I wanted to make a few cards for the Papertrey MIM challenge this week.  We were to use border dies to create a background on our cards and I thought this would fit the Moxie Fab Challenge of using a die cut in a new way too.
I chose the ticket die, die cut some old book print and tore the tickets apart.  Then I layered them vertically to create the layered background.  I used 3 different books to get the color variation.
Cardstock: White, Black and Fine Linen(PTI), book print
Ink: Tea Dye Duo and Black(PTI)
Stamps: Greeting(PTI), Doily(Inkadinkado)
Extras: Coffee dyed seam binding, button(PTI)

Thanks for stopping by.  I have one more card that I have worked on that uses the ticket die also that I will post later.
