Papertrey March Blog Hop...take two.

So this should be it for the blog hop for me.  Three's a charm right?  So you might not think Lemon Tart and Aqua Mist for a Father's Day card but I think it came together.  I used the new World's Greatest, Polka Dot Basics and It's Offical sets.
The cardstock was Rustic White and Lemon Tart with Bitty Dot Basics background paper.  Tag Sale #6 die was used for the tag on the front.

Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by,

CASE Study #83 and MIM #58

Hi again.  More Beautiful Butterflies for you.  I started using the relief images from the card directly below this one.  Where I had taken the Copic markers and blended a background on PTI white cardstock.  Then I took the butterflies and ran them though the Xyron  and dumped glitter over them.  Very sparkly! Mounted the butterflies to a rustic white panel then to a Soft Stone A2 card base.
I added a Oceans Tide 1/2" strip of cardstock to the side and used Score Tape to adhere glitter to it.  Greeting is also from the Beautiful Butterflies set also stamped in Ocean Tides ink.

I am also entering this card in the CASE Study challenge where Laura Bassen's card was our inspiration.  Her card is below.

Back to the stamp room to create and thanks for dropping by!

More MIM #58

Ssooo...I am still working on the Graduated Backgrounds.  This one I created with the Copic markers like Nicole showed on her Blog.
Then I used the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set and dies.  I started with PTI white cardstock and Ocean Tides ink.

I will be back with the relief images on another card.  Thanks for stopping!

March Blog Hop @ Papertrey Ink!

Hello!  Hope you are having a great weekend!  I have been enjoying some "stamp time".  So for this months blog hop at PTI we were to use yellow and aqua and the picture at the very bottom of this post as our inspiration.  I am not thrilled with this card so I will go back and do some more stamping to get it right! hahaha
I used Aqua Mist(PTI) and Barely Banana(SU) ink on this.  The cardstock is PTI white and Aqua Mist.  Flower was made with the stripe tie from World's Greatest and the background was made using the Frame Out #2 set.

I will be back later for another try at this.  Thanks for stopping by,
Sentimentally Sue

ric#8 - McQ by Alexander McQueen

Hello!  This is a Runway Inspired Challenge.  Man, what where they thinking with that hair???  I do love the dress it just says "party" and fun.
So this photo is my inspiration for the card below.
I really liked how this card turned out. I stared with white PTI cardstock and a old lace background stamp from Stampin Up.  Stamped with Black PTI ink.  Then took the flower stamps from the Green Thumb set and stamped them in various SU dye inks.
Die cut a Sizzix tag and mounted it all with foam tape on on a black cardstock base.  I used Score Tape to mount the grosgrain ribbon across the front.  Thanks for stopping by to check it out!

MIM #58

Good Afternoon,  So if you are anything like me you have all these pieces of die cuts on your desk and you just NEED to use them up on something.  So these are my relief pieces left over from one of my other Make-It-Monday #58 cards.  The base is a 4.25" by 4.25" PTI white card.  I just used the background cut outs from the Graduated Background technique to add the art to the card and
finished off with a greeting in orange ink.

Enjoy your day!
Sentimentally Sue

MIM #58...Graduated Backgrounds(2).

Hi.  This background technique is addictive.  Love picking out the colors to blend together.  I used watercolor crayons to create this background on PTI white cardstock.  Inks used were Dark Chocolate, Sweet Blush and the Tea Dye Duo.  Stamp set was "Warm Happiness" and cardstock was Sweet Blush and Dark Chocolate.

That's all for now,
Sentimentally Sue.

Graduated Background...MIM #58.

Good evening!  This is my favorite card of this background technique.  I used the watercolor crayons again then spritzed it with watered down white acrylic paint.  Let it dry and die cut the butterflys.  All dies and stamps are from Papertrey Ink.  White cardstock is also from PTI.
Not sure I like the ribbon yet but the colors of the background are beautiful in person.

Thanks for stopping!

MIM #58...Graduated Backgrounds.

Hello.  Happy Monday to you.  Hope your week is off to a great start.  So the technique of the week this week at Papertrey Ink blog was a graduated background created with markers, ink refills or in my case watercolor crayons.
I started with PTI's white cardstock.  Then scribbled the colors across the cardstock in whatever order you want.  I then used a waterbrush to blend the colors together.  After the cardstock dried I stamped the greeting in black and die cut the house from the set "Loves Lives Here".  Popped up the background and heart with foam tape.

Later, Sentimentally Sue.

MIM #57...Sweet Berries

Hi ya!  Okay, this is my last MIM challenge for this week.  I really try to win the free stamp set because my wish list is long.  Just ordered some new stuff this week and can't wait to get my order to play.  This is using the ink "kissing" technique again.  I used the Green Thumb set with Houndstooth background for the kissing pattern.  Color pallet was Sweet Blush, Pure Poppy, Simply Chartreuse and Aqua Mist.  The aqua frame was from the Happy Day set and die.
All ink, dies and cardstock are from Papertrey.  Ribbon is from Stampin Up.

Sweet Dreams!

Papertrey Ink MIM #57

Hello.  Well our weekend is coming to a close.  I am a little sad but we get to focus on a week of opportunities that lays before us.  So onto tonight's cards.  I am still playing with the ink "kissing" technique that I have described already in other posts this week.  I started with a base card of Royal Velvet, added a Chartreuse layer then stamped in Papertreys great white cardstock.
I inked up the pot image from the Green Thumb set with rust ink then kissed it onto the woodgrain background stamp inked with white ink.  All stamps and ink are from PTI.

Back in a bit with a sweet card,
Sentimentally Sue.

CAS-Fridays #44, Simon Says and MIM #57

I guess I am on a stamping binge today.  Did I get much else done today???  The answer would be no.  Clean clothes might be overrated anyway, hahaha.  I did get some laundry and yard work done this morning.  So  the Simons Says Stamp challenge was "Bit o' Green", this fit.  Papertrey kissing techniques was used on the solid square image with Spring Moss and Ripe Avocado ink.  the technique was described in my last post so I will not go over it again. http://sentimentallysue.blogspot.com/2012/03/mim-57-and-cas-fridays-44.html
Cardstock was PTI's white and moss and the stamp set
was Giga Guidelines also from PTI.

The CAS- Fridays challenge was to make a clean and simple card using a image, pattern and sentiment.  I thought this also fit the bill.

Later gator, Sentimentally Sue.

MIM #57 and CAS-Fridays #44

Good evening.  So tonight I have 2 cards that I am going to enter in 2 challenges.  One is a girl(pink) card and one is a boy(green) card.  And since ladies first is the rule we will start with the ladies card first.  I started with a Sweet Blush card base.  The stamping is all done with PTI ink in Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet and Black.  To do the kissing technique that is the PTI challenge I used an old Stampin Up set called Good Things Grow that has solid block images with a small flower relief in the bottom left corner that shows in white.  the block image was inked in blush ink then kissed on to an image from Giga Guidelines that was inked in the berry ink.
Then it was stamped onto PTI white cardstock.
I then stamped the same Giga Guidelines image inked into berry and blush onto the base card alternating the colors of ink.

The CAS-Fridays challenge was to take a pattern, image and sentiment and make a clean and simple card.  Even thought there is a lot of stamping I still felt the general card was clean and simple.

Be back with the boy card in a flash,
Sentimentally Sue.

Colors, Sketches and a 1,2,3.

Hi again.  I forgot what it was like to work with wood mounted stamps.  I have been using clear stamps for a while now and when you used the wood mounted you can't position things the same.  Hence the tree stumps not in exactly in the right place.  But the pattern in this card was great fun to create with the PTI houndstooth background stamp.  I had never tried to use it with 2 colors before.
Love it and will be trying that again.
So the rest of my card uses Stampin up ink and the Trendy Trees set.
White and Chartreuse Cardstock is also from Papertrey Ink.

This card covers three challenges-
1. PDCC123 color challenge

 2. CAS-Friaday's 123 challenge
Pattern, Image, Sentiment

3. Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #232
So that about covers it for now.
Thanks for stopping and thanks for the new followers!

Embellish Magazine...Rosettes Color Challenge.

Hello and Happy Saturday.  I was so happy to be able to hang clothes on the clothesline today.  What a blessing this weather has been.  So on to the Embellish Magazine challenge.  The picture below was our inspiration and the color pallet we were to use.
So my base card is Soft Stone cardstock.  Greeting is stamped in Colorbox silver ink with a Think Big Favorites set from Papertrey Ink.  Branch is embossed with Gold detail powder, leaves stamped in silver and tiny blossom with Lavender Moon ink.  Rosettes are made with Raspberry Fizz felt and the Heart Border die from PTI.

Circle is Hawaiian Shores cardstock and Raspberry Fizz grosgrain ribbon.
Doilie is from Wilton I think.  That's all for now,
Sentimentally Sue.

CASE Study #82...take 3.

Okay, I think this might be it for tonight.  I think this might be my favorite of the three cards too.  So the challenge was to take Laura Bassen's great card and use it as our inspiration.  I used Papertrey Ink "Love Lives Here" stamp set and die, white cardstock and ink to create my card.

This is Laura's card below.

Thanks again for stopping by,
Sentimentally Sue.

CASE Study #82...take 2.

Hi again.  So this is the second in the series of CSC82 challenge cards I made.  I used Papertrey cardstock in white and kraft, "Love Lives Here" die and stamp set and Wonderful Weaves stamp set from Stampin Up.
The inspiration card is below and is made by the talented Laura Bassen.

I have one more idea to share.  Thanks for stopping,
Sentimentally Sue.

CASE Study #82

Hello.  Hope you are having a great week!  One day left for the work week and we are having fabulous weather here.  Middle 70's.  Unheard of here in March.
So on to the challenge.  The very talented Laura Bassen created the inspiration for this card and we were to take it and run.  I used Papertrey Inks "Love Lives Here' stamps and dies to create this card.  Along with their white cardstock.  I love the cardstock it is so sturdy and stamps beautifully.
Below is Laura's card.

I might have to play a little more with idea.  So we will chat later.

Hey there!  So I had so much fun with the details on this card.  Embellish magazine is running a Spring themed challenge with the color pallet or inspiration photo below and the Mojo Monday sketch challenge is also below.  The little pinwheels are punched from squares and cut in from the tips to create a pinwheel.  Secured with a mini brad.
The white and corally red colored cardstock are from PTI and the background paper is from "the paperie girls".  The ink and stamps are also from PTI.

Well that is it for tonight.  Sweet dreams!
