August Altenew Inspiration Challenge

Hey there. I had made this card last week but did not get it posted so here we go. I was going for a distressed look on the Altenew Inspiration Challenge. Using the wood in the background and the color palette.

I really liked how the embossing of the Modern Greetings set was not solid. It helped the inked stripes show through. I also echoed the shape of the stamped image on the base card and smaller greeting. The edges were roughed up on the layers and rustic twine was added.

Whenever I am feeling in a slump a card challenge always gives me inspiration. Thank you Altenew!

AAA Cards Challenge #247

Hey there. I mention sketches being my favorite kind of challenge and we have a new sketch for you on the AAA Cards Challenge.

Geometric shapes are some of my favorite stamps to use. They can work for male, female and in this case a teen card. The set I used is from Ellen Hutson, Stay Cool set. Here again super simple stamping with the layering of black images and greeting for punch. I trimmed my white panel down and mounted it to a top folding royal blue card base.

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

I created a bonus card for you with a baby theme using a PTI greeting and Avery Elle's Circle It stamp set.

AAA Cards Challenge #246

Hello. Sketch challenges are one of my very favorite kind of challenges. AAA Cards has a fun sketch for us.

I combined the color of the rainbow dots and the fun house image from the Love Lives Here set from Papertrey Ink. This made for a simple one-layer card. I added the greeting from the set A Bit More: Baby Mine also from PTI.

Thanks for stopping by to visit. I hope you will join us for the sketch challenge.

CAS Colours & Sketches #517

Hello, we have a fun color challenge up on the CAS Colours and Sketches blog today that will run for the next two weeks.

I wanted to play with one of my favorite techniques, Ink Layering. I started by blending the three ink colors across the top of my panel. Then using Avery Elle's Circle It stamp set I stamped the confetti in Crumb Cake ink. Using The Stamp Market's Chunky Alphabet the H, B and U were stamped also in Crumb Cake. Then used the Wild Wheat ink to stamp the 2 from Scrapbook.com's Bold Numbers set. I added a few clear Nuvo drops to the panel and set it aside to dry. While is dried I stamped the Greeting from My Favorite Things Little Birthday Notes in Cajun Craze ink. Finally, I mounted the greeting and panel to a Crumb Cake base card with foam tape.

I played with same technique and created a more feminine version adding some die-cutting too.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will create a card with these colors for the challenge.

AAA Birthday Card Challenge #52

Hello. Man, this year is flying by... The challenge on the AAA Birthday Card blog is Anything Goes this month.

I have a very special young man in my life that turns ten this year. He is such a bright light in our lives, so a bright card was in order. I started with a white panel that I stamped with the Wonky Backdrops set from Ellen Hutson. Then using the Sizzix, Celebration Words: Block die set I cut out the shaker window greeting. Using the Papertrey Ink Smooth Numbers set I die cut the "10" out of dark blue cardstock, stacking and gluing them together and adding glossy accents.

This was such a fun card to create. I hope you will join us in the challenge. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.
