Everyday...

Hello and happy Sunday to you! Today's card combines several challenges but is something that came to me early this morning. I did not take into account I have been on steroids for a month and my shaking makes it super hard to control water coloring. Lol
I started with Tim Holtz watercolor paper and my Kuretake watercolors. Using a paintbrush I made a circle trying to weaken the color to get a ombre effect.  I then splattered the card front with a little of the same paint. The Stamp set is a very old Stampin Up set called Its About Time stamped with Versafine black ink. I added a few black Nuvo drops to the front of the card to tie the black in. The image below is the balance of the greeting inside the card.
I am loving the sketch from My Favorite Things this week!

So the ombre is my circle and the color pallete is the chilled image.
I thought the greeting fit the Time Out challenge.

Following a Sketch

Hello. I have been playing with the My Favorite Things sketch challenge tonight. I made two cards that look totally different but follow the same sketch.
I started with the sketch below then used the Ellen Hutson Pin-Sights challenge for my color palette. I also used my first set/die from Concord and 9th by using the Blooms Fill-in die to cut the hexagons. Greeting is from the Essentials by Ellen Mondo Magnolia. Black Nuevo drops add my little bit of sparkle.

This card also uses the MFT sketch and color challenge too. The bold diagonal background is from My Favorite Things and the greeting is from Honeybee Stamps.

Both cards follow the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of "layering it up". Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Party Blog Hop

Hey there. Today is blog hop day over at the Papertrey Ink blog. We were given an inspiration photo and are to make a card that we felt represented the photo. So first here is the photo.
I focused on the cake with sprinkles. I was in TJ Max the other day and saw these sprinkles and thought they would make great shaker card filler.

My card uses all Papertrey Ink cardstock, window sheet and birthday dies. The happy die is from Simon Says Stamp and the cake is a Sizzix die. I can't believe there is no stamping on this card.  Lol.
Papertrey is celebrating 11 years in business. I have been loving them from the very first stamp set called Papertrey. Hoping you have a great day and can put a little cheer in your day.
Thanks for hopping by, Sue.
And a very Happy 11th Birthday to PTI!!

Watercolor Magnolia

I wanted to play with my new Arteza Real Brush Pens. I stamped the Mondo Magnolia from Essentials by Ellen with dark grey ink. Then used the pens to watercolor the flower blending the colors with water as I went. The paper is Tim Holtz watercolor paper. I let it dry then using a light grey ink I stamped Wonky Backdrops over the flower down the side. I wanted it to mimic the hair on the statue in the inspiration photo. This is for the Pin-Sights Challenge on the CLASSroom blog. Finally I stamped the greeting in dark grey ink also. Panel is mounted to a 110lbs white card base with fun foam.

The photo above is the inspiration. Thank you for visiting, Sue.

Paint Splashed Monday

Hello. Working on a little pattern play tonight.
I started by stamping Papertrey Ink's Watercolor Wonder stamp set on 110lbs white cardstock. I used the My Favorite Things color challenge for my palette and the Freshly Made Sketch for my layout. Papertrey Ink has a Make It Monday challenge that is a Shadowed Sentiment. The shadows were to be made by layers of dimension. My greeting is from Altenew, Painted Encouragement. Missed the sketch challenge, oops.

The Uniko challenge was to use old/new with a love twist. My old set is the watercolor wonder set, New is the greeting and the little heart is my love.

More Paper Hugs

Hey there. I don't know about you but sometimes it just feels good to use supplies that you have had for a long time. I was a Stampin Up demo for about ten years about ten years ago. So that might make this Kalidacolor stamp pad 20 years old. Lol.
My card uses the Paper Hugs stamp set from a fairly new company called The Stamp Market. I love their images! Ink is from SU blue frost Kalidacolor and bashful blue. Cardstock is 110lbs white. Large heart is sprayed with Shimmer Spritz and popped up with royal blue fun foam.
This pick shows the glimmer on the heart better. I have a hard time getting that glimmer to show in pictures.
By using the Kalidacolor pad I was able to get that ombre effect. The sketch bellow was my layout inspiration and the Uniko challenge was old/new. My pad is old and the stamp set is new.

Simon Says Stamp challenge was to add a sentiment.

Finally the AAA Cards challenge was to use the image above as our inspiration. I used the color palette and the thought that when I am chilled a hug is the best medicine.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Ultraviolet Magnolia

Hello, hoping your Friday is off to a good start. Today's card is made with the Pantone color of the year in mind. Ultraviolet.
I stamped the Mondo Magnolia in Versafine black ink on Tim Holtz watercolor paper.  Water colored it with distress ink and Arteza Real Brush pens. When it dried I cut it out. With a 110lbs white card base I stamped the Text Style background from Papertrey Ink with the brush pen ink. The greeting from the same Magnolia set was stamped in Palette black ink and heat embossed with clear detail powder on cardstock weight vellum. I used Scor-Tape to attach the vellum inside the card.

I used the Cas(e) this Sketch layout.

The CLASSroom is having a Pinsights challenge with the above image.

The Simply Less is More is doing a purple challenge.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Birds of a Feather

Hey there, happy Monday to you. I had received the Concord and 9th Birdie Banners stamp set Saturday but hadn't played with it yet. I saw a couple of challenges that might work for it so, it got inked after work today. It is a fun little set that I can't wait to work with some more.
My first card used Papertrey Ink cream cardstock, wood grain embossing plate and the Year of Psalms: March stamp set. Cute little bird is from Concord and 9th. I stamped the verse twice in chocolate ink then once in Versamark then heat embossed with clear detail powder. Colored the bird with colored pencils. After I used the wood grain embossing plate on the card base I splattered it with metallic gold watercolor paint. My second card uses the same supplies.

For the PTI Create Along With Us challenge I used Betsy Veldman's card below as inspiration.

I will also enter it in the AAA Cards quote challenge and the Inkspirational photo challenge. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Simply One Layer

Wishing you a beautiful start to the new week. Do you ever lay in bed and have card ideas floating through your head. Lol. Well at 3:00 am these two cards came to me and no, I did not get up and make them.
Both cards use just a single layer of 110lbs white cardstock. Inks are from Stampin Up, Eggplant Envy, Orchid Opulence and Cool Carribbean. I used the Hi There Bear from Concord and 9th and the Double Take set from The Stamp Market. Opps, the gray ink is Soft Stone from Papertrey Ink.

This is technically my second set from Concord and 9th but I think it was all on my first order with them

This card also uses the Color Throwdown palette and the fabulous sketch from Leigh at CAS(E) this Sketch. Stamps used on this card are from The Stamp Market called Double Take.

That is it for now. Have a great, hopefully inky day and thanks for dropping by, Sue.

New Stamps!!!

Hey there. I am super excited. I found a new stamp company and I am in love. Their clean graphic style just sings to me. The Stamp Market looks like it has just been around about a year. I ordered a few sets to try out.

And you know me...I have to work a couple of challenges into that stamping. Lol
So the first card uses the Double Take stamp set. This does have a matching die that was out of stock when I ordered. My card is an A2 110lbs white card stock cut 11" by 4.25". Scored at the top.  My cardstock weight vellum tag was cut with a old Sizzix die. I love the little perforations on it. I used the My Favorite Things color challenge for my inspiration.

The second card also used a set from The Stamp Market called Paper Hugs. The white panel is also 110lbs white cardstock with mounted to an A2 red card base with fun foam. The strip of black pattern paper is from Papertrey Ink. Altenew and Versafine inks were used on this card.

I will also be entering these in the CASology "HUGS" challenge and the second card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday pattern paper challenge.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.
