Sending Hugs

Good Friday morning to you! Part of my new stamp order contained a set from Poppy Stamps. I have never tried them before. So we had to sit down and crack out a few cards.
For the first card I stamped 110lbs cardstock with Versafine black ink and clear heat embossed it. Then colored with colored pencils blending the color with gamsol. Covered the hearts with Wink of Stella then Glossy Accents.
This was my color palette but I needed to add green. You know five hearts and all. Lol.

This card started with 110 lbs card base. Stamped heart outline in light gray ink. Then flipped the image over on my block and using the back of image stamped a solid heart in soft pink ink. Digging out my really, old SU pastels and I rubbed some pink around the edge to create depth. Then stamped five itty bitty hearts in the background. With Wink of Stella covered the large pink heart. Finally the stamped the greeting with Versafine black ink and heat embossed in clear.  Simple one layer card.

I will enter the top card in the CASology hug challenge and the bottom card the the AAA Cards quote challenge. I could not get their image to download. Sorry. Enjoy this day God has given you and thanks for the visit, Sue.

Still Mixin'

Hey there. Hope everyone is home and safe tonight. We are having a bit of a blizzard in Iowa. My hubby is out plowing roads for the state so I am stamping. Hardly sounds fair does it? I came home from work early today cuz of the weather and had a Ellen Hutson order waiting for me!! I had admired the gorgeous Mondo Magnolia stamp for awhile.
Well she came today.

For both cards I used Strathmore Bristol cardstock and my Kuretake watercolors. The first card I stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with clear powder. The second card was stamped with Pallette black ink. Both greetings are from the very first Concord and 9th stamp set I bought, Blooms Fill-In.

The mix it up challenge on the CLASSroom blog was to use an Essentials by Ellen and a Concord and 9th stamp set together. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Mixin' It Up

Hello. I was working on mixing two companies stamps tonight. Concord and 9th and Essentials by Ellen. Ellen has a Mix it Up Challenge on the CLASSroom blog. The Where Creativity Meets C9 is having a challenge to use your first C9 stamp set. Mine was the Blooms Fill-In set.
My card was stamped with various Atenew, Papertrey Ink and Stampin Up inks. I also used the Bokeh Dots stamp set from Essentials by Ellen. Everything was stamped on 110 lbs white cardstock. Floral die cuts were sprayed with Shimmer Spritz and gold dots are Viva pearl pen.

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Sketch Challenge

Hey there. I have been a little bit lazy. I have been posting most of my cards on Instagram. ( @sentsue )
It is so easy to post there and not have to write a bunch.  Sorry. Today's card was for a sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch blog. I loved the wide open space it provided. Here is the inspiration.
My card is below. I wanted to try some thing masculine and I liked the idea of the Kraft and black. The happy die, cardstock and greeting are from Papertrey Ink. Ink is Versafine black ink.

This was a new technique for me. Cutting a die in half and trying to piece it back together. Now that I have done it the hard way I can think of easier ways to do it but you know how when you start something and you are going to finish it no matter what. Lol.
I will enter it in the Simon Says Stamp Monday and Wednesday challenges which are both something new. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Addicted to CAS: Music Challenge

Hey there! Well this is a first for me. I was asked to be a guest designer on the Addicted to CAS Challenge blog. I was pretty excited and a little nervous especially when I saw the cue card. But it is a challenge, right?
This is where the nervous part came in. I am not really a music girl so the first thing that popped in to my mind was songs that get sung. Then I took a hard look at my stamps and the Birthday Song was about all I had to work with.

I started with a 110 lbs white card base and with my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform I stamped the greeting from Avery Elle's Handwritten Notes set in 4 ink colors. Kiwi Kiss, Tempting Turquoise, Yoyo Yellow from Stampin Up and Altenew Crimson inks. I created punctuation from other stamps in the set by using selective inking. The candle is from a Papertrey Ink set, Wishes Come True. For the flame on the candle I did the rock and roll techniques using the yellow and crimson inks. The wick was created with a Zig Millennium 005 marker. The last step was to cover the flame and candle with 3 coats of clear Wink of Stella.

My goal was a one layer card that might have you singing the "birthday song" as you read the words. Thank you for stopping by and thanks Addicted to CAS for the chance to guest design, Sue.

MFT Color and Sketch Challenge

Hello from the frozen state of Iowa. Our high today is -8. Beauty heh? This just makes for a great day to stay in and stamp. :) For today's card I started with the My Favorite Things color challenge.
Then I used the sketch to help pick my image to stamp. It is a very old Stampin Up stamp. Part of the entering challenges is to build up the different companies stamps. I was a demonstrator for SU for 10 years. I would like to branch out. I liked the idea of the sketch where you can use one small stamp and get big impact by repetition. I did rotate the sketch 180 degrees.
So I stamped the image three times in each color of ink, trimmed them out and sprayed them with Shimmer Spritz.  All the cardstock is 110 lbs white.
The presents are mounted with either one, two or no layers of foam tape to give dimension.

I will also enter it in the SSS Wednesday Anything Goes and the SSS Monday Party challenge.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

PTI December 2017 Blog Hop

Hello. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was good. We had a lot of family time. I wanted to participate in the blog hop ever since they posted this beautiful inspiration photo.
For my card I started with a piece of white Stamper Select cardstock and lightly traced a heart shape in pencil. Then I used the Mini Blooms set to stamp the wreath using various pink and green inks. I erased the pencil lines and trimmed the wreath out. Sprayed the cut wreath with Shimmer Spritz and mounted it to a white A2 card base. I then die cut the banner from Concord and 9th from both green and white cardstock. The greeting is from the Keep it Simple series. Greeting is popped up with fun foam and mounted over the wreath.

I am also going to enter this card in the Where Creatively meets C9 Concord and 9th challenge. Really feel the banner takes center stage.

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.
