CASology #387: Comfort

Hey there. Today's new cue card is something we all could use a little more of...Comfort. Come join us for our new challenge on the CASology Blog.

My card stared with a light, taupe A2 card base that I stamped with the hot water bottle from a Stampin' Up set called Under the Weather. I then stamped the greeting from Papertrey Ink in Versafine black ink and coated it with clear embossing powder and heated it up. Finally I added a few stamped hearts. This was super simple and left plenty of open same to create a CAS card.

I hope you will check out all the great cards the team has made then come back and share your "comfort" card.

Trifecta Cardmaking with Sue

Hey there, We are trying something new over on the Stamplorations blog. It is a new feature where we will combine stencils, stamps and clear stickers to create three fun cards.

On my first card I was going for a mixed media feel by ink blending a background, then using the Rows of Hearts stencil I brushed platinum acrylic paint over a portion of the stencil. After it was dry I used the Sweet Kindness set to stamp the floral image in permanent black ink.  I created a bit of splatter with black pearl watercolor and added a few black Nuvo drops. Using the Mixed Media Backgrounds clear stickers I die cut 3 hearts and overlapped them on the card front. Placing another one on my white card base to ground the panel. Then I added foam tape to the panel to mount it to the card base. The greeting from the same stamp set was stamped in black ink and a clear Bits of Washi sticker was added to accent it. A few black staples to finish it off.

The second card uses the Christmas Trees mini stencil to create the multi colored dots. Then I stamped the Sweet Kindness stamp over the dots in black ink. On a scrap of white I stamped a peach cupcake and added clear sticker over it from the Happy Happy set. I die cut 3 plum circles and attached them to the greeting adding foam tape to the back to mount it to the card front. Then finished it off with a few black Nuvo drops.

The final card uses the same Sweet Kindness stamp set to stamp the black coffee images on a white heart die cut. I ink blended a panel then laid the Rows of Hearts stencil over it and sprayed the panel with shimmer spritz. Also used the stencil to ink blend hearts on the top folding, white note card. Using a scrap of white cardstock the had pink ink blended on it I added the greeting from the Just Caffeniate clear stickers set. Placing all the pieces on the card front with foam tape and adding a few enamel dots to accent the images.

Shery from Stamplorations is offering a special bundle at a great price for you. Sweet Kindness stamp set, Rows of Hearts stencil, Mixed Media Backgrounds 2 stickers, and Bits of Washi 1 stickers. Kit will sell for $18.99 + free US shipping ($7 shipping to Canada and $9 other countries).

CASology #386: Long

Hello. We have a new cue card up on the CASology Challenge Blog today.

This took me a bit to figure out what image I would use. I knew right away that I would make a slimline card but was unsure about a "long" image to put on it.

I used white card stock to create a finished card of 3.5 by 8.5". I stamped the balloon from the Stamplorations' Kathryn's Big Wishes set in black ink and extended the balloon string down the card with a black marker. Then colored the balloon with alcohol markers and covered the finished balloon with Wink-of-Stella for a little sparkle. Finally I stamped the greeting from Papertrey Ink in black ink. A long card with a long balloon string.

The team has some great cards to share with you then we hope you join us for the challenge.

CASology #385: Luck

Hey there. We are starting a new challenge today on the CASology Challenge Blog and our new cue is...

My card uses a top folding white card base that I stenciled the clovers in two colors of green ink. My stencil was created with a clover die and cardstock. After it was die cut I sprayed the cardstock with stencil adhesive so the thin parts would stay put as I brushed over them. I then used the clover that was die cut to layer over the background and stamped the greeting from Papertrey Ink in Versafine black ink.
Lucky clover. Thanks for dropping by and I hope you will join us for the "Luck" challenge.
