Hey there! Simon Says Stamp has a super new release of dies for their special "DieCember" release and they kindly asked me to help with the party. I got to play with the Whirl Bay Leaf die.
One trick I found helpful with this intricate die was to pop out the stem first from the release hole on the die. Then pushing my poke tool along the stem and leaf veins to separate the die cut from the die. Lifting the leaves as I went.
As you can see, I had a great time working with this very, versatile die.
Great ideas for year round.

DeleteHi Sue! I’m so pleasantly surprised to see all the beautiful cards you created using this leafy die. They are all lovely but the green curvy sympathy card is definitely my favorite, and holds a cute story behind it. I was shopping on the Simon site early this morning as I didn’t want to take a chance on missing out on the free embossing folder & die set. So as I was browsing through the new DieCember items, I nearly passed on by the Whirl Bay Leaf die. It just didn’t really appeal to me because I have so many similar leaf dies. But something kept nudging me to go back and look harder at it so finally, just before checking out my cart, I did. When I saw the sample cards made with that die, yours stopped me in my tracks! It was so different and unusual, and gorgeous! I don’t know how you came up with that design but it is just SO darn cool! Needless to say, I added the die to my cart and then checked out lol. Anyway, thanks for all the extra inspiration I found here too on the blog party!!
