CASology #380: Snowman

Hey there. The CASology Challenge Blog had a new challenge up on the blog. Our new cue card is snowman.

Our generous sponsor for this challenge is Stamplorations.

On a white panel I stamped the greeting outlines from the Joy stamp set from Stamplorations in Versafine black ink. I stamped the fill-in Joy with mint ink. Then I die cut the
Hero Art's snowman from the panel and white fun foam. On a white A2 card I stamped the snow flakes in mint ink and mounted the snowman with the fun foam to pop him off the card front. Using a scrap of mint card stock I stamped the joy again and trimmed to a tag shape tying to to the snowman with black bakers twine. This created a clean, graphic card.

I hope you will plan on joining us for this fun challenge.

Stamplorations Sticker Monday and a Discount Code

Hello! I am excited to be with you again to share some fun ideas with Stamploration's clear stickers. Today my main focus is Birthday cards with the Happy, Happy sticker set.

Using Kathryn's Big Wish stamp set, I stamped and no-line colored the balloons on a white panel and then positioned my sticker and die cut the panel. Here is a little tip: if your sticker does not cover your entire die cut use clear packing tape to finish covering the area. I then tied the bakers twine over the seam where the sticker and packing tape meet.

My next card uses a technique where you coat the back of the sticker with clear glitter and apply it over a brightly colored panel.

Using the Gift Builder 1 die to cut a window on my front panel, framing the greeting from the Happy, Happy sticker set. I then filled the gift area with glossy accents. With my final card today I wanted to see how alcohol markers would work with the stickers. Good news, they worked great!

The crazy part is I wanted to make a plaid so the sticker has vertical stripes drawn on the front with the markers. Then the sticker was placed on card stock that has horizontal stripes creating a fun plaid.

I used the Circles All Over Texture plate to give my base card  a little something. I hope you enjoyed these ideas and can get a jump on your 2021 birthday cards.

CASology #379: Wheat

Hey there. The CASology Challenge Blog has a new cue card up. Our new word is wheat.

I ended up making two cards for this challenge both 4.25" square on kraft card stock. My first card uses an old Gel-A-Tins set, Big and Wild Things. Using just Versafine black ink and black fun foam to give the card neutral, layered dimension. The greeting is from Papertrey Ink Keep it Simple line.

My second card started with a 4.25" by 4.25" kraft card base that I stamped with the CASual Fridays Wheat Wreath stamp. Using navy ink I stamped the wreath on the center of the card and the greeting on a scrap of white card stock. Then I used rose gold embossing powder to emboss the "Grateful" on the card front. Finally I added a few gold beads to the card front with liquid drops.

I can't wait to check out what you make for this fun challenge. You can go check out the team's cards on their blogs.

My first card also fits these two challenges. It was super quick to make and follows the sketch pretty closely.

Stamplorations Sticker Monday and a Discount Code

Hey there. Clear stickers were brand new to me so while I am sharing some Christmas cards with you today, I will share a few tips I learned along the way. I wanted to try placing some die cuts behind my sticker. So I knew that they needed to be really thin. I painted some pink tissue paper with pearlescent watercolors and die cut tiny trees.

Gluing these down to my panel with a glue pen then placing my sticker over the top. I found that using my teflon bone folder helped to smooth out the sticker. This worked perfect and created no halo around the trees. I used the Tis The Season sticker set and the Circles All Over Texture cover-plate die.

My next card used two sticker sets to get a modern, mixed media feel, Mixed Media Backgrounds 2 and Good Tidings.

The other really cool thing about the clear stickers is you can use colored card stock to bring out some of the images on the sticker. When I placed the background sticker on the aqua card stock the ball shape jumped out at me and cried out to be an ornament. So with just some simple black stamping this Christmas card came together quickly.

On my last card I decided to try combining stickers with stamping and die cuts all on one card keeping it clean and simple.

On a white panel I stamped the Yuletide Deer in three colors of ink. Then using the Good Tidings stickers I created a band of graphic greetings across the card. Then using the Christmas Blessings die, I stacked and glued three die cuts together and attached over the band of stickers.

I hope this inspires you to try out the many uses of clear stickers in your cardmaking. I personally can't wait to try some new ideas! Here are two other cards I created with clear stickers, Tis The Season and Good Tidings.

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 16

We are creating some super fun tags over on Tracey McNeely's blog today. I am helping them celebrate Concord and 9th today as a guest host.

The first two tags I used the Joy stamp set and my stamp positioner to create a blend of colors on the large joy stamp.

I also used the stripe from that same Joy set and a joy die also from Concord and 9th. I hope you will create some fun tags with the teams inspirational tags. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

CASology #378: Stag

Hello. Hoping all is well in your world. We have a new cue card for you this morning. This should be a fun new challenge for us all. Our sponsor for this challenge is STAMPlorations. I am using their Yuletide Deer set on my card today.

My card is a simple one layer card that I masked and ink blended pale pink and coral dye ink. Then heat embossed the Yuletide Deer and greeting in gold detail powder. Finally I stamped some small snow flakes in the coral ink.

One more card with this great set. I stamped the stag on real birch bark and heat embossed with gold detail powder. Glued it to a white panel and splattered with metallic ink. Then stamped and die cut the greetings and mounted with foam tape. Then to finish off I added some gold liquid drops.
Manly birthday...check.

With Christmas right around the corner I thought I should work on Christmas cards. I am looking forward to seeing what you create with the "stag" cue.

25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 6

Hello. Today I am guest hosting over on Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I am having such fun creating tags for presents this year. We are celebrating Stamplorations today.

I used the clear Joy stamp set for this tag and a holly die cut from Papertrey Ink.

This tag used some ink blending and the Yuletide Deer set.

My final tag was also ink blended in a circle this time then heat embossed with the Peace Be With You stamp and gold detail embossing powder.
I hope you can find time to create a tag or two and join the fun! Thanks for stopping by, Sue.
