Happy Birthday Papertrey Ink!

Hey there!  I can't believe a month has gone by since my last post.  Well it has been a busy month.  My husband had a hip replacement and my father had a stroke.  Things are working out to a even keel right now so some stamping was needed by me.
Cristina has been a favorite stamper of mine since before her Papertrey days.  I love her clean, crisp style.  She always brings the "fresh" to her projects and is a big inspiration.  I picked the card in the upper left to imitate.  I hope I can do it justice.

For Papertrey's 6th Birthday we were challenged to take our favorite artists projects and use them to create a project of our own.  I had found some printable hexagon paper on the web so I printed it on some PTI white cardstock then took the Happy Hexagon set and stamped away.  The ink was from PTI and Stampin" Up.  Cardstock was all from PTI.

Hope you have a pleasant night and please drop by again!

Blue Make it Monday

Hi again.  Last one for tonight.  For this card I started with this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.  I thought Lovely Layers from Papertrey Ink fit the sketch to a tee.  The card measures 3.5" by 5.5".  This will fit the bill for the CAS-ual Fridays "long and short" challenge.  I started with PTI white cardstock, ink from PTI and Stampin Up and glassine bag from PTI also. Washi tape is from Martha Stewart and button from PTI.

CASology challenge has a blue challenge this week.
Papertrey Inks challenge was packaging bulky cards this week.  I die cut the glassine bag with the Lovely Layers die to let the leaf and button pop through the bag. Last but not the least was the Less is More challenge of "thank you" cards.
Well that is all for tonight. Thanks for stopping by,
Sentimentally Sue.

Make it Monday/ Washi Tape

Hello again!  So the Papertrey Ink Challenge this week is to make packaging for a bulky card.  I wanted to echo the doilies on the card with the envelope but needed a little more substance.  I lined the envy with some teal vellum leaving room for the bulk of the buttons on the card.
The card base(Soft Stone), ink(Dark Chocolate), twine and buttons are all from Papertrey Ink.  Paper is from My Minds Eye and washi tape is from Freckled Fawn and Target.

The challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp blog was to use washi tape on your project and the Passion for Papertrey challenge was a Thank You card.

Thanks for dropping by,
Sentimentally Sue.

Friend with Washi Tape

Hey all!  I have been having problems with Blogger and loading pictures.  Think I have it fixed right now.  I picked up some fun new paper from My Minds Eye and washi tape from Freckled Fawn.  So the challenge at Simon Says Stamp was to use washi tape on your project and Less is More blog was a "friend" theme.
The card base was PTI cream cardstock and the friend stamp was also from the PTI Friend Till the End stamp set.  This is a really flat card all the collage it printed on the paper.

Prettied up the back of the card with some scraps on my desk.

Thanks for dropping by to visit!  Hope you come back soon,

Papertrey Blog Hop #2/ Retro Sketches

Hello.  I love white on white.  Clean and crisp. The Papertrey Blog Hop for December is a "White on White" challenge.
I started with PTI white cardstock and stamped the plaid background with the stripes background stamp set in white ink.  Embossing it with white detail powder.  Then I die cut the shape with a Spellbinders die.  Stamped and embossed the joy from a Martha Stewart stamp set and layered it on the die cut shape.  Then wrapped it with twine.

Mounted it on a white card base with foam dots.

I used the Retro Sketches #43 as my inspiration for the card.

December Blog Hop

Hey all! Hope you had a great Christmas.  So the challenge at Papertrey Ink December Blog Hop was " White on White".  I started thinking about this and thought what would make white on white stand out?  Texture, glitter and dimension?
So I started with scoring lines on the front of the card every 1/4".  Then laid 1/8" score tape in between each line.  I did the first 3 lines with glitter, then white Pearl-Ex and then glitter on the last 3 lines.  I die cut the "blessed" greeting and popped it up with foam tape.  Punched a hole in the glitter layer and tied white satin ribbon through the hole.  Then popped the whole glitter panel up on a white base card.  White cardstock is all Papertrey Ink.

This picture shows the glitter verses the pearl-ex up close.
