Mod Vases

Hello. I was checking out the June color trends challenge over on the CLASSroom blog and the row of little vases caught my eye. I love when I don't have a stamp and it challenges me to create the look with out the vase.

So I started with an 110 lbs white top folding card base. I stamped one of the dots from Essential by Ellen Bokeh Dots in the colored ink then rolled the edge in kraft ink. By making a light pencil line on the card I could get the vases to line up straight. Then masking the top of the vase I stamped the popsicle stick to create the vases neck. I the masked the vase and stamped the flowers from The Stamp Markets Birthday Wishes set in charcoal gray ink. The greeting is also stamped in the gray ink. Finally I coated the top of the vases with Wink of Stella.
It is so hard to get the shimmer to show up in photos. I will also be entering it in the Simon Says Stamp "anything goes" challenge.

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Inchies Grid

Hello, Today's card was one of those cards that has been stuck in my head for a few days and just need to come out. I have a question for you guys...when you make a card do you try it out on scratch paper or make a few trial cards? I just hate to waste card stock so I usually do not do a trial run. My card uses supplies from several companies.
Double Take from The Stamp Market, stitched square die and Whimsical Wood Background from My Favorite Things and Mini Blooms and white card stock from Papertrey Ink. The ink was either Stampin Up! and Versafine.  I am going to enter it in several challenges.

I will also enter in the Make-It-Monday #326 inches challenge.  Thanks for stopping by, Sue

Framed Transformation

Good evening. Working on transforming a card that I was just not happy with.  Both cards used the Fabulous Frames set from Papertrey Ink. The first card I made about a month ago. It just didn't feel right to me. It was meant as an encouragement card.
My second card feels better to me.
Both cards are made with PTI white card stock. This card also uses HoneyBee Stamps Coffee Break and Technique Techniques Tuesday Sassy Coffee set. I will be entering the second card in the Tuesday Transformation challenge on the Papertrey blog, the Timeout "warm"challenge and the "frame" #118 challenge on the AAA Cards challenge.

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

CASology #306: Bear

Hey there.  There is a fun new challenge on the CASology Challenge Blog today.  I hope you can join us and create your own "Bear" card today.

My card started with a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper that was made into a top folding, A2 card base. I used the bear from Concord and 9th, Hi There Bear set. I stamped the bear, umbrella and greeting in Versafine black ink.  Then I took Distress ink and a water brush to create the cascading color.  Finally I added some of the pearl watercolor paint from my Kuretake palette to the wash of ink.

Icy Treats

Hey there. This is a common greeting for me. So with that in mind I decided to create a card with that phrase. I had a piece of water color paper on my desk that I had played with my Arteza Real Brush pens making a rainbow. I hadn't had any bright ideas for it till I saw the challenge over on Less is More about using the "Bits and Pieces" on your desk. All three of these cards were made with the one piece of rainbow water color paper.
My card used a bold alphabet die set.  I die cut the letters from a strip of the rainbow, then cut three more sets of letters from white card stock gluing and stacking them together. I then covered them with Tonic Crystal Glaze. After they were dry I set them back in the holes. I stamped the "there" from a Honey Bee set on a scrap of white card stock and mounted it to the rainbow piece with foam tape. I then mounted it all to a 110 lbs white card base. Next up...Papertrey Ink Inspiration photo.

My next card is for the Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop. We were to use the inspiration photo to create a card. I used that water color rainbow again to cut my popsicles from.  The die is from one of my favorite stamp companies The Stamp Market. I started with a card base cut from Papertrey's white card stock. I blended the yellow ink from Stampin Up! to create the sunshine in the top left corner. Then used the popsicles mounted with foam tape to the card front. Greeting is from Papertrey stamped in Versafine black ink.

The final card uses the rainbow water color paper that I had cut the popsicles out of. I stamped the sticks in kraft ink and then used some Pearl-Ex to create the frosty popsicles on a scrap of white card stock. I stamped the greeting from the same FREE set I received with my order from The Stamp Market. Love that company!! The greeting was stamped in Versafine black ink and then mounted it to the Papertrey Kraft card with foam tape.

Color Splashed Squares

Hello. Well we made it to hump-day. Hoping your week finishes strong.
Today's card started with a piece of Strathmore water color paper that I spritzed with Distress Stain spray. I then die cut the two squares with a stitched square die. Then used the butterfly dies from the My Favorite Things Beautiful Butterfly set to cut the panels. I stamped the greetings from the Papertrey Ink Scripted set in pink ink and heat embossed with clear detail powder. Mounted the squares with Elmers blue and popped up the butterflies with foam tape to a top folding A2 card base cut from the same water color paper.

This card will be entered in the My Favorite Things sketch challenge, the CAS on Sundays tic-tac-for challenge (bottom row) and the Simon Says Stamp "bright and cheerful" challenge.
Thank you for stopping by, Sue.

CASology #305: Jumpy

Good morning! Today's challenge over on the
CASology blog is "jumpy". What a fun cue card.
I looked through my stash of stamps and came up with a bunny. The image is from a Papertrey Ink Bitty Blessings set. I started with a top folding white A2, 110 lbs card base. I stamped the grass in bright green ink then stamped the bunny in Versafine black ink on front and inside the card using my stamp platform.
I then die cut the bunny from a post-it note.
Placing the post-it over the image you can position the die perfectly. Then I ran it through my Cuttlebug cutting the card front to create a bunny shaped window. I then colored the bunny with colored pencils and stamped the greetings from the My Favorite Things Yay For You set in black and tan ink. Finally added a mini pompom for the tail.

Now go check out all the fantastic projects from the team.
