CASology #309: Sunbeam

Hello. Fun stuff going on over at the CASology Challenge blog today. We are kicking off a brand new challenge with the cue card "Sunbeam".

My cards were both made with the same supplies. 110 lbs white card stock, Stampin Up! Yoyo Yellow card stock, Versafine black ink, Papertrey Ink greeting, 
Elmers glue and a sunburst die.

Both top panels were cut to 4" by 5.25" . I just slid the yellow panel to the top left corner on the one card. Thanks for stopping by and go check out the rest of the team's brilliant work.

Quietude Challenge

Hello, Here are couple of cards that I finally got put together tonight.  I have had the pieces setting on my desk for weeks but time has not been on my side till tonight.

Inspiration for the cards came from the Ellen Hutson blog challenge for July. The Pantone Quietude is the photo inspiration. I started with my watercolors and a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper. I blended the colors from the photo across the paper with a waterbrush. I then used the Altenew cover pate die to cut the panel. I then heat embossed the greeting from Ellen's Mondo Magnolia in Versafine ink and clear detail powder and Ellen's vellum.

My second card uses layered card stock and a Birch Press die set to create the layered circle image. I just used colors of card stock that I felt closely matched the Quietude colors. Then add the greeting from Ellen's Mondo Magnolia heat embossed in Golden Peach embossing powder on Ellen's vellum.

Rainbow Greeting Stripes

Hey there.  We have been on the run for the last few weeks.  I have been posting to Instagam most of the cards I have made lately. Tonight's card was a single layer, top fold birthday card. Using one stamp set from Papertrey Ink I stamped the greeting in a rainbow of ink then just die cut the balloon from Altenew from the front. The balloon string was just drawn with a journaling marker. Walla, clean and simple one layer card.

 I will be entering it in several challenges tonight. Patertrey Ink's Make-it-Monday is all about a repeated stamped greeting, AAA Cards is about using a rainbow and Simply Less is More was a single layer card with stripes. I am counting my words as my stripes.

CASology #308: Cloud

Hey there.  There is a new challenge over on the 

CASology Challenge blog today.

So if you know me at all one card is usually not enough. I just start playing with ideas and keep making till I really love one. Well today it was my second card. lol.

I started with a 110 lbs white top folding card base. I stamped the letters from The Stamp Markets Chunky Outline Alphabet in Versafine ink and clear heat embossed them. I then cut masks from Post-it notes to mask the letters. Using an cloud stencil from Stampin Up! I sponged light blue ink to create the sky. Removed the masks and colored the letters in with a Yoyo Yellow marker. I then used orange distress ink and a Wink of Stella pen to give the letters shading. Last I added Tonic Crystal Glaze over the letters.

The second card is my favorite. I used a stitched rectangle die from My Favorite Things to cut the aqua rectangle. Then used the cloud dies from Papertrey Ink to cut out the clouds. Also cut a set from white card stock. The heart die is also from Papertrey Ink, die cut from a scrap of pink card stock. The greeting is from PinkFresh set called Little Love, stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with silver detail powder. I used some metallic thread to tie the heart and cloud together and mounted them with foam tape.

Baby Rattle

Hello. One more quick card for today. 

I started with a top folding, 110 lbs white A2 card base. I die cut 5 rattles from the same white card stock and glued them to the front of the card on the left side. Then cut the "baby" from gold glitter card stock and glued it to several white die cuts to pop the word up. Finally attached to the card front. All dies are from Papertrey Ink.

Summer School: Day 5 Symmetry

Hey there, after a weekend of camping and no stamping I needed to play a little. Over on the My Favorite Things blog they were having five days of summer school lesson. Friday was the last day and I was gone so I am playing catch up today. Our lesson was symmetry on cards. Now I probably don't practice this technique very much.

Today's card started with a piece of Bristol smooth card stock that I blended Ripe Persimmon and Crushed Olive Distress ink on. Then spritzed with water and patted with a dry cloth. I then die cut the Leaf Sihlouette from both the blended panel and a white panel. Glued them together and mounted to the front of a top folding, 110 lbs white card base and then stamped the greeting in the same Crushed Olive ink.  This is also a symmetrical remake of a previous leaf card for the Tuesday Transformation over on the PTI blog. 

I also will be entering it in the Simply Less is More colour challenge.

Rainbow Lightbulbs

Happy 4th of July to you!

These cards started with another rainbow ink panel that was laying on my desk. I had blended Distress ink on some Bristol Smooth cardstock and not used it on anything yet. When I saw the rainbow challenge over on the Pinkfresh blog I decided their light bulb in the Shine set would be perfect.

I started with a 110lbs white, top folding card and cut the radiating rays from the front. Then stamped the greeting in Versafine black ink.  I then die cut the bulbs from the rainbow panel and stamped the bulbs. I used a Wink of Stella pen to move the color a little in the heart and flower. Popped them up with some yellow fun foam and glued them in the center of the rays.

My bulb is definitely framed by the rays.
