Monday's Cards

Hello and happy Monday to you. I was playing with a little water color today. I have trying to paint in the lines but can't get the hang of it so for today I will stick with the abstract backgrounds. I love how the colors blend and blead into each other. My first card started with a water color panel that I wet down just a stripe then chose 3 colors for the My Favorite Things Color Challenge to blend together. After is was dry I took a dark chocolate ink and stamped the From The Heart set also from MFT across the panel. I die cut the 3 hearts from Essentials by Ellen Home and Hearth set from the panel. Mounted the water color to a kraft card base and popped up the hearts with foam tape. They hearts were coated with Wink of Stella. This one is also for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge and the AAA Cards three of something challenge. (3 stripes and 3 hearts)

My next card is also for the AAA Cards three of something challenge. After the watercolor panel was dry I covered it with Shimmer Spritz and die cut the trees from the Honeybee Stamps Stacked Pendants. The star is from the Essentials by Ellen Home and Hearth set also. I filled the star in with glitter to give it a little more sparkle. The greeting is from the Hello Bluebird Typed Christmas set.

 Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Happy December to you! Playing along on the brand new cue over on the CASology Challenge blog today.

My card started with a kraft panel that I stamped the Santa from A La Art and the other two images from Travel Post from Stampin'Up! Then I cut the panel and removed a 1/2". Popped up both pieces with foam tape and stamped the greeting is from Hero Arts snowman set in the gap. Added some gold dimentional drops for a little sparkle. Now it is time to check out what the clever team has for the cue card.

Gold Bling

Hello and happy Monday to you! Jennifer McGuire showed a new to me technique on her blog last week. You apply embossing paste through a stencil then coat it with embossing powder. When you heat it the surface becomes raised, metallic and bubbly.

The card base is 110 lbs white top folding. I used a geometric stencil from Papertrey Ink and Tim Holtz texture paste. Embossing powder is Ranger Gold Tinsel and greeting is Typed Christmas from Hello Bluebird.
"B" is for Bling: SSS Monday Challenge
I also Decked my Dies  for the PTI Make it Monday Challenge #344 by triple embossing the Christmas Tree Change-up die.

Cool Stripes

Hey there.  I keep telling myself that I am done making Christmas cards and then a new idea pops in my head...
Today's card is a single layer, top folding, mostly white card. It was one of those that I was trying to challenge myself to think outside the box with my stamps. I used the line stamp from The Stamp Market Birthday Wishes set to create the square for the tree cut out. I used two colors of green and two of blue moving the stamp just a bit each time I stamped it. I then die cut the tree from the Honeybee Stamps Stacking Pendants. Finally added the greeting from the Hello Bluebird Typed Christmas set. Sometimes it is the simplest cards that just tickle me.

Simon Says Stamps challenge this week was Anything Goes, Less is More has a single layer holiday challenge going and AAA Cards challenge was mostly white. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Glitter Tree

Hello. Today was a super productive day. I got seven cards for upcoming posts. It felt really good. Now to get all the posts written. Todays card was an idea I had come up with but had been waiting on the Black Friday order from Simon Says Stamp. It came today! Yay!!
My card started with the Honeybee Stamps pennant die. I bought it to use as a Christmas tree. I let the die together and cut it from both white and gold glitter paper. Piecing the trees together and gluing them down to my card front. It is a 110 lbs, top folding card base. The greeting was heat embossed in gold detail powder. The greeting was from a new set from Hello Bluebird popped up with foam tape. The star is from Memory Box.

The card is for the three challenges listed below. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Brushed Gold

Hello and happy Wednesday to you! I was playing with a little metallic paint this morning and created a one layer Christmas card. I wrote out all my Christmas cards last night and got them all addressed to mail out. That is a good feeling.
My card started with a 110 lbs, top folding card base. This is usually Neenha Solar White or Papertrey Ink white card stock. I brushed some metallic acrylic paint down the top edge, let dry then dry embossed the two lines on my Martha Stewart board. Finally I stamped the the greeting from Stamplorations in Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold detail powder. After I took the first picture I added a few white Nuvo drops. I was not sure I liked them but they are there now. lol. The clear might have been a better option.

This card will fit several challenges going on right now. They are all listed below.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.
