February Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hello. Happy Sunday to you! Hope you are having a restful weekend. Today's card was based off of the inspiration photo for the blog hop.
I tried to get the feel of the photo and still stay true to my style. Clean and simple. Now what is funny is the time it took to achieve it.  There was some definite trial and error. I took a photo of one of those errors below. My post-it tape stuck and tore up the eggs along with the dies not cutting through the layers.

I used the Chevrons background stamp and the Scrambled Eggs die. The die alphabet is also from Papertrey along with the cardstock. The blessings word stamp is from Honeybee Stamps. I used a similar layout to a card I had seen from Laura Bassen. That's all for now.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Geometric Encouragement

Hello from snowy Iowa. Quick post this morning. We are expecting a storm later today and that means spotty internet. I wanted to play the the CAS-Friday's sketch challenge and Ellen Hutsons Pin-Sights challenge on more time.
My card is a one layer 110lbs white cardstock. Ink is Stampin Up or Papertrey Ink. Stamp sets used are Bokeh Dots and Wonky Backdrops both from Essentials by Ellen. Greeting is from Altenew called Painted Encouragement. The Eggplant purple ink is reading black online. Sorry.  The turquoise circles reminded me of the macaroons in the photo. Everything else was pretty straight forward. Simple stamping. Hardest part was making sure my triangles didn't get Wonky on me.

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.
P.S. stay warm and safe.

Three in a Row

Hey there. We are over the hump for work week. I saw the challenge on Addicted to CAS and thought to myself I don't have any cat stamps. Lol But upon further investigation I found a really old Stampin Up set called Trick or Treat that did contain a cat.
I stamped the cats in Unicorn white ink from Hero Arts,, let dry then colored with colored pencils. I have been working on this skill. I have a long way to go yet. I then stamped the greeting from Papertrey Ink in Versafine black ink and put tiny dots of clear Nuvo Drops on their eye. Tada, cats.

My next card uses the Honey Bee stamp set called Coffee Break and the Technique Tuesday set called Sassy Coffee stamped in Versafine ink on 110lbs cardstock. It is also colored with colored pencils.

Both cards follow the sketch.
Thanks for stopping by, Sue.
P.S. most of my cards have been posted on my Instagram account lately under SentSue.

Layered Images Remake

Hello, A few years back I was challenged to make a single layered card that layered images to create depth. I created the lavender card below. Today's challenge is called Transformation Tuesday on the Papertrey Ink blog. We were to take a card from the past and remake it, make it better.
Here is my card for the remake.
I used the same Script Background from PTI but added Brushed Blooms for my flower. I inked the flowers and spritzer them with water before stamping to get a softer look. Last I added some white glossy Nuvo drops.  Happy 11th Aniversary Papertrey Ink! Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Coffee=Love

Hey there. Thought I would share one of the ways my hubby shows his love for me. Every once in a while he makes me my morning coffee and brings it up to me. Ahhh...showin the love.
Today's card is using my new HoneyBee Stamps Coffee Break set and Techniques Tuesday Sassy Coffee set. I stamped my images with Versafine black ink on 110lbs cardstock then colored them with colored pencils.  I blended the color with a little gamsol. Heart was also coated with Glossy Accents.

I will enter it in the four challenges above. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Paper Collage

Happy Sunday to you! First I must say I am a clean and simple stamper. I do not do collage well. I am just not sure where to put things. Papertrey Ink Make-it-Monday #311 this week was to use different papers to make your card. I used and old hymnal and an old assignment notebook.

I used 110lbs white cardstock for my card base and my stamped hearts and flowers. I used Heart Prints, Mini Blooms, Polka Dot Basics and Pen & Ink all stamp sets from PTI. I used the My Favorite Things color challenge #86  as my inspiration.
Also the Uniko old (hymnal and notebook), New (pen&ink set) and heart for the love challenge.

There you go. Thanks for dropping by, Sue.

Happy 7th Birthday!!

Simply Less is More blog is celebrating it's 7th Birthday this month. I have been playing along with their challenges for quite a while. Clean and simple fits my style to a "T". Both of my cards today are one layer cards celebrating their birthday and their theme of music. Think of singing the birthday song.
Both cards use 110lbs white cardstock and the same color palette from the My Favorite Things color challenge.  The first card uses a Gina K stamp set called Vintage Borders. The greeting is from Papertrey Ink. The card below uses a stamp set from Avery Elle named Handwritten Notes. Candle stamp is from Papertrey also.

So I will enter it in the LIM music challenge, MFT Color challenge and Simon Says Stamp anything goes challenge. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Shimmies Shaker

Hello. I was needed a little unwinding tonight. Card Making is it for me. I was playing with t h e shaker card idea. Now this shaker had so many failures during the process.
I first put the foam tape on the wrong side of shaker so if you look close you will see two die cut Windows and two layers of window sheet. That was not planned but worked out.  I am loving the My Favorite Things bold diagonal background stamped in Versamark ink on the pink cardstock. I used the Freshly Made Sketches #322 challenge for my layout.

The My Favorite Things #86 color challenge for the color palette.

Finally the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge is anything goes.

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Altenew Year-in-Review Inspiration
