CASology #383: Envelope

Hey there. There is a new challenge up on the CASology Challenge Blog today. There were so many ways you could go with this one.

Using a top folding natural white card base I stamped some red hearts in a triangle formation. Then using a red mini envelope I stamped the "XO" on a card sized to fit the envelope. Finally I used a strip of vellum to add my greeting over the envelope. All the stamps were from the Ellen Hutson set "Love You So".

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will join us for this challenge.

Stamplorations Sticker Monday

Hey there! I have some great new ideas for you today, all with a Valentines vibe.  They all still have the "clean and simple" feel that you should come to expect from me. Lol.

My first card started with a water color panel that I painted a loose watercolor heart with several colors. I then used the Row of Hearts stencil from Stamplorations to emboss the panel by running it through my die cutting machine. I trimmed the panel down and set it aside to dry completely.  on another scrap of watercolor paper I painted another heart like the first one. Now you know these were not perfect to line up because they are just painted loosely by hand. after the second panel was dry I placed one of the Love Is clear stickers over the painted heart and trimmed it down. I then tied the light pink, gingham ribbon around the sticker panel and mounted it to the embossed panel with foam tape. This all was added to a top folding A2 white card base and then I added a few drops and the small pink heart with Stickels.

I wanted to try the clear stickers on vellum to add a frosted element to my card. I stenciled the plum hearts over a white panel with the Rows of Hearts stencil then masked off the faux ribbon and brushed color over the panel. Attaching the vellum and faux chipboard heart to my card front. Finishing off with some Stickles pearl.

My final card uses a technique I tried in December with tissue paper behind the clear Mixed Media 2 stickers. I just die cut the hearts from pink tissue and using a two way glue pen attached them to the panel before adding the clear sticker. I love the way they show through the sticker. The base card was also stenciled with the Rows of Hearts stencil and by cutting strips from a larger sticker I can create my own washi tape for the edge of the card.

I hope this stirs your own creative juices to try using clear stickers on your projects. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

CASology #382: Unite

Hello. Hope you are all staying healthy. Today we have a new cue card up on the CASology Challenge Blog. Our new cue is...

The first thought that came to mind was to be "united in marriage". So a wedding card was in order. I took my cue for the color palette from the decorators that have been using so much black with white and gold or brass hardware for accents.

I used a top folding A2 white card base that I added a 4 by 5.25" white panel to using fun foam to pop it up. Just a couple of glitter gold washi tape stripes and a die cut from the Mr & Mrs Kaiser Craft die. Super simple with a sparkly punch.

The team has created some fun cards for you to check out. Then I hope to see your card added to our challenge.

Stamplorations' Sticker Monday and Discount Code

Hey there. Time for a new Stamplorations Sticker Monday post. I can't wait to share some coffee goodness with you today! For my first card I used the Coffee HeavenJust Caffeinate and Bits of Washi #1 clear stickers. I also stamped the cute little coffee cup for the Sweet Kindness stamp set.

You might notice a theme here, kraft card bases and coffee. With my next card I was going for a graffiti, mixed media feel. I used Coffee HeavenJust Caffeinate, Mixed Media Backgrounds #2, and Bits of Washi #1 clear stickers, the Coffee Cup stencil and the After Coffee stamp set. Talk about throwing it all in. LOL. I wanted to try layering stickers over each other. Some of the stickers are three deep on my card and they still work great!

My final card today used another sticker from the Coffee Heaven set and a fun idea with heart die cuts. The two small, kraft hearts create a wrap-around hug for my greeting.

I also used the Row of Hearts stencil to dry emboss my background and the mug from the Sweet Kindness stamp set.

That is it for me today. I hope you enjoyed
the krafty, coffee lovin' goodness!

CASology #381: Memories

Welcome to 2021. Today we have a new challenge up on the CASology Challenge Blog

So looking back we will share our memories.

This card uses a technique I like to call ink layering to create a one layer card that feels like it has dimension. I used the Stampin' Up! set Travel Post stamped in cocoa, linen and cranberry ink. Then I over-stamped the greeting in Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear detail powder. Finally rounding the corners of my rustic ivory card stock. This technique works best when you use a light, medium and dark ink. I hope you will join us in this challenge of memories.

CASology #380: Snowman

Hey there. The CASology Challenge Blog had a new challenge up on the blog. Our new cue card is snowman.

Our generous sponsor for this challenge is Stamplorations.

On a white panel I stamped the greeting outlines from the Joy stamp set from Stamplorations in Versafine black ink. I stamped the fill-in Joy with mint ink. Then I die cut the
Hero Art's snowman from the panel and white fun foam. On a white A2 card I stamped the snow flakes in mint ink and mounted the snowman with the fun foam to pop him off the card front. Using a scrap of mint card stock I stamped the joy again and trimmed to a tag shape tying to to the snowman with black bakers twine. This created a clean, graphic card.

I hope you will plan on joining us for this fun challenge.

Stamplorations Sticker Monday and a Discount Code

Hello! I am excited to be with you again to share some fun ideas with Stamploration's clear stickers. Today my main focus is Birthday cards with the Happy, Happy sticker set.

Using Kathryn's Big Wish stamp set, I stamped and no-line colored the balloons on a white panel and then positioned my sticker and die cut the panel. Here is a little tip: if your sticker does not cover your entire die cut use clear packing tape to finish covering the area. I then tied the bakers twine over the seam where the sticker and packing tape meet.

My next card uses a technique where you coat the back of the sticker with clear glitter and apply it over a brightly colored panel.

Using the Gift Builder 1 die to cut a window on my front panel, framing the greeting from the Happy, Happy sticker set. I then filled the gift area with glossy accents. With my final card today I wanted to see how alcohol markers would work with the stickers. Good news, they worked great!

The crazy part is I wanted to make a plaid so the sticker has vertical stripes drawn on the front with the markers. Then the sticker was placed on card stock that has horizontal stripes creating a fun plaid.

I used the Circles All Over Texture plate to give my base card  a little something. I hope you enjoyed these ideas and can get a jump on your 2021 birthday cards.
