CASE Study #89 and MIM #64

Hello.  Thanks for stopping by.  I wanted to play with a couple of challenges.  First I started with Papertrey's Color Challenge for my color pallete(photo below).

My cards below used a background paper that had Mellon Berry and a Fine Linen colored stripe to it.  I then took Lavender Moon ink and stamped a stripe over the background paper to round out the color pallete.  Base card is Smokey Shadow.  The birthday flag is Fine Linen cardstock and a Lavender Moon button to finish it off.

The beautiful card below was made by Agnieszka Malyszek.  The CASE study challenge was to use her card as our inspiration.

Off to play some more,
Sentimentally Sue.

MIM #63...Glitter!

Hello!  Well here we are winding down the weekend.  One of the challenges on the PTI blog mentioned using the scraps on your desk.  hahaha my desk is deep. I tried to take a picture but it didn't turn out.  Maybe the camera was shocked at the mess.  Well with those scraps there were some butterflys from a watercolored background.
So the top one got "glittered" and layered up.
This is a simple card using the Wish Big, Polka Dot Background and Movers and Shakers Sentiments.  The challenge at MIM was to glitter the die cuts and use them on a card.  Hope you have a great evening!

Mojo 238

Good evening.  The Mojo sketch for this week used 12 squares to make the background.  I die cut some pinked squares and inked the edges to make them aged.  I wanted a printed muslin look so I stamped a flower in the same tea dye ink.  Then put them down and sewed the squares down to a kraft base card.

I die cut the flowers from some October Afternoon paper and cut leaves from some PTI felt.  Greeting is also from Papertrey Ink.

Sweet dreams,
Sentimentally Sue.

MIM #63...Glittered Diecuts

So I was so excited how this came together!  First you have to understand.  I don't like glitter.  Not because it is not pretty...it is.  I do not like it because it is MESSY.  Let me tell you right now I am wearing glitter and so is the chair I am sitting in and by tonight my husband will no doubt have glitter on him too.  But I do love this card.  So you usually don't think of glitter and manly together but I thought it might just help the dad tie to stand out and I think it does.
Stamp set and die is World's Greatest from Papertrey Ink.  Color pallet is Terracotta Tile, New Leaf, Enchanted Evening and Dark Chocolate.

Tape Color Trends

Happy Saturday to you!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start.  Just got into my stamp room for the day.  I did some baking and laundry this morning.  So my first card for the day is an Embellish Magazine washi tape and color challenge.
I used Martha Stewart tape and a Sizix/Hero Arts stamp set and dies.  This was the first time I had used one of these combo sets and they worked great.

Stamped the bicycle with Versamark and heat embossed with black detail powder.  Then diecut the bicycle.  The flag was part of the set also.  I just covered the cardstock with tape then die cut the flag.  Used a corsage pin for the stick on the flag and added the green bead in place of the pearl.  Popped up the bicycle and flag with foam tape.  The cardstock is Stampin Up confetti white.

Embellish Mag and MIM #63

Good evening!  Well this is the last card for tonight.  Embellish Magazine has a new challenge out to use washi tape in a blue, red, green and yellow color way.  Papertrey Ink has their Make-it-Monday glitter diecut challenge.  So I combined both in this card.
White cardstock, dies, twine and stamps are all from PTI
and the washi tape is Martha Stewart.  Glitter is Stampin Up.

Sweet dreams and thanks for stopping!

PDCC129

Hello, Thanks for stopping by.  When I first saw this challenge photo I was drawn to the pillow fabric in the upper right hand corner. I love the bold graffic style of the fabric.  So that was my jumping off point.

Navy blue has always been a favorite color to use in place of black for the line images so that is what I used to stamp my flowers from a gel-a-tins stamp set.  Greeting and white cardstock are from Papertrey Ink. Inks are from Stampin Up.

Later, Sentimentally Sue.
