New Technique

Hello. First I want to say that this is a technique I think one of the Altenew gals did a while back on a card. She had used rose gold embossing powder and I commented that it was really cool and I had never seen it done before. Of course I can't find the card back or I would give her credit for the idea.
I started with a white, top fold 110 lb card base. I then die cut the solid floral die from the Altenew Fantasy Floral die from the front. Placing the leaf dies around my floral image I also cut them from the front of the card.  Splattered the card base with the gold from my Kuretake watercolors. I then cut the same leaves from mauve card stock and placed them in the holes cut on the card base. Taping them in place from the back with scotch tape. (Sorry, I realize now a photo might have been helpful.) I then laid the solid floral die back in the hole to cut away the areas that the leaves would overlap the floral image.

Using the original white flower die cut I embossed the whole flower with Versamark ink and Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder. I then cut all three layers of the flower with different colors of purple card stock and glued them together with Multi Medium Matte. I glued a piece of 4" by 5.25" white card stock inside the card front to adhere the images to. Popped the purple flower up with foam
dots after I glued the gold image in place.  Finally I heat embossed the greeting from the Mondo Magnolia set from Essentials by Ellen.

My inspiration was the Altenew April challenge photo and the Spring theme over on the Time Out challenge blog. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.
