AAA Cards Challenge #239

Hello. Are you feeling HOT or COLD today? We have a new challenge up for you on the AAA Cards Challenge for you to show us where you are at today.

I love to play with pinks and oranges together. So I started by stamping the Captivating Blooms by Altenew in black ink and using the coordinating stencil to color it.  I added some white gel pen accents and clear Nuvo drops to the flower centers. When the drops set-up I added the greeting from Clean-line Everyday by Simon Says Stamp and mounted my panel to a top folding card base with foam tape.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will join us for this "hot or cold" challenge.

AAA Cards Challenge #238

Hey there. There is a new challenge up on the AAA Cards Blog today. This was a fun technique I had not tried in awhile and I added a little twist of my own also.

These colors are some of my favorite to blend together. I started with a white panel and some 2" wide Post-It tape. I tore the tape the long way to create a landscape shape then started blending Distress ink colors. My twist was I moved my tape and blended again to give some depth. I then made sure my panel was dry and heat embossed my greeting from Simon Says Stamp in white detail powder. Trimming and mounting my panel to a top folding white card base with foam tape.

I hope you will join us and try this fun technique. Below is a definition of CAS and what we look for in your cards. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Altenew April 2023 Stamp/Die/Stencil & More Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in Total Prizes!)

Hey there! Today on the Altenew Card Blog there is a hop to celebrate Altenew's April release. If you are hopping along with us, you will have arrived from SkyPaperScissors

So, let's get rolling on the cards I created. My first card has a Mid-Century vibe going on with the new Color Pop Hello die and Bold Sentiments also from Altenew.

I created the stripes by stamping a line image, then cut the die out in a vertical orientation on the stamped panel. This die is special in that the letters hinge and are not cut away. This creates a fun peek-a-boo feature. The greeting from Bold Sentiments was stamped and the panel was mounted to a top folding white card base.

My next card features the same Color Pop Hello die along with the new Sweet Bouquet stamp set. Using a white panel I stamped the floral image in dark gray ink, I then centered the die across the top and ran it through my die cut machine. Adding the vertical greeting also stamped in dark gray ink. To make the peek-a-boo feature of this die pop, I cut strips of cardstock to be showcased in the Hello window. Then I mounted the panel to a top folding, white card base with foam tape.

The Sweet Bouquet stamp set also has a great stencil and die set to coordinate with this versatile floral stamp set. I love the mix of greetings in this set. They go from larger sentiments, cursive words and block labels. I used the stamps and stencil on this card and two of the greeting styles.

The next two cards use the Chestnut Tree Layering die set and The Rolling Hills 3D embossing folder but that is where the similarities end. The first card has such a fall, earthy feel and the second is full of springs, soft colors.

Before I send you on your way, I want you for know about the fabulous prizes up for grabs from Altenew.

CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge #508

Hello. Hope your week is off to a great start. We have a new color challenge up on the CAS Colours and Sketches blog.

I started by die cutting four PTI Feathered Friends 19 birds from white cardstock. I then stamped him using the challenge colors and glued the birds together to create a die cut with dimension. Then on a top folding, white card I stamped out the pine branch from SU Peaceful Wishes set. Using a splatter stamp I stamped three images with the curry ink.

I glued the bird, so he was standing on a branch and added the happy birthday greeting with a bit of foam tape.

I hope you can join us for this fun color challenge in the next two weeks. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

AAA Cards Challenge #237

 Happy Spring to you!

We have a new challenge up on the AAA Cards blog.

By the time April rolls around I am ready to play with some Easter stamps. I chose the Papertrey Ink Scrambled Eggs set to create a scalloped circle card.

This is a one-layered card that I created with an egg shaped peek-thru window. The stenciling was done with Stamploration's Just Plaid stencil and bunny images was colored with alcohol markers. I cut two identical scalloped circles with Spellbinders dies. scoring and gluing the tops together.

Thanks for dropping by to check my card out and I can't wait to see all your fun shaped cards!

AAA Birthday Card Challenge #48

Hello. It is birthday card challenge time on the AAA Birthday Card blog and we are going to layer it up this month!

Although this card reads CAS because of the white space it has layers of ink, heat embossing, cardstock, washi tape, glitter paper and a cover-plate. This is a ton of layers for me. Lol. I started with a top folding card base that I ran through my die cut machine with Stamplorations' Circles All Over cover-plate. I really like cover-plates that don't cut the edges. I then ran a strip of gold dotted washi tape vertically down the front.

Using some scraps of white cardstock, I stamped and embossed the mini cupcake from Altenew. Then die cut the happy and cupcake many times to pop-up the images. I also cut several postage frames from the Papertrey Ink die set. All were layered up to create dimension. adding the glitter paper happy to the top of the stack. I stamped the greeting from the same Altenew set in teal ink on teal cardstock. Assembled the pieces and mounted it to the card base.

Layers have always been tricky for me. I am never sure when it is too much so I can't wait to see you inspiration. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.
