Sweet Dreams

Wishing you sweet dreams this Friday night.
This card took a bit of fiddling around with theme and layout. I wanted to play with the Pinkfresh April challenge. Below is our inspiration for color palette and layout. I only own one Pinkfresh set, Little Love.

I started with a 110lbs white, top fold card base and stamped the rainbow stripes with a Papertrey Ink set, Super Stripes. Then I die cut the clouds from a PTI dies set. The moon and greeting were stamped with Versafine black ink on the same white cardstock. I water colored the image with ink pads and a water brush. Some of the little clouds and the large one were popped up with foam tape. Moon was covered with Wink of Stella when dry. I also colored a small piece of vellum to layer behind the moon along with a piece of pale, yellow cardstock.

Poppy Trio

Hello.   Playing with a little watercolor today.
I started with the Simon Says Stamp Monday "Trio Challenge". Stamping the Painted Poppies from Altenew on Tim Holtz watercolor paper in Versamark ink. Then heat embossed the flowers with Simon's white detail powder. I then wet down the flowers and leaves and stamped them with ink. Dried with my heat gun and then wet the the background down and floated the aqua ink around the flowers. Tapping my paint brush to create speckles. After panel was dry the mounted it to a yellow top folding note card with fun foam.  The greeting from Papertrey Ink was stamped on a scrap of white cardstock and mounted to card with foam tape.

This photo is our inspiration for the latest Time Out challenge. I used the flowers and colors as my inspiration.

Simon's Wednesday challenge was Happy Birthday.

The AAA Cards challenge was watercoloring for me.

Birthday Card Progression

Good afternoon. It just hit me I didn't realize it was this late already. Time flies when your stamping. Lol
As the title of the post says, I am going to progress you through my single layer card. I was feeling like CAS cards get the rap of being easy but sometimes I think they take a lot more design ability than layered cards.
I started my card with a sketch idea.
Then my color palette.

This was my first card. Now I am going to share all the reasons I had a problem with it:
*to many candles
*even number of candles
*cake to close to top of card
*birthday greeting to close to edge of card
*greeting strips to far apart
*cake plate not solid enough to ground image

So for all those reasons I started over.
Supplies: 110lbs top folding white card base
Altenew, Papertrey Ink and Stampin Up inks
CAS-ual Friday's Shenanigans stamp set
Essentials by Ellen Wonky Backdrops stamp set
Concord and 9th Happy Day stamp set

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday is celebrating birthdays. So today's card will be entered in the challenge.
Finally the card has two of my favorite techniques. One layer cards and using words as design elements.

Birthday Wishes

Hey there! I am sending out birthday wishes to Simon Says Stamp, 9 years. Congrats to them and their great company.
My card today uses the inspiration photo above from the Ellen Huston Pin-Sights challenge. I used a 110lbs white card base and stamped the circles from Wonky Backdrops from Essentials by Ellen. Then stamped the greeting from CAS-ual Friday stamps in Versafine black ink. From there I debated adding stars or black Nuvo drops. I stopped and took a photo first in case I messed up. Then added the drops.
I struggle with where, size and how many drops to add. Still not sure of my choice so I posted both photographs. I will also enter this in Simon's Wednesday birthday challenge.

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

MFT Color & Sketch Challenge

Hello. This was a quick one layer card.
My favorite kind. Hahaha.
I started with a 110lbs white, top fold card base. Using The Stamp Market Double Take stamp set I stamped the "hugs" greeting in Altenew and Papertrey ink staggering it back and forth. Finally I created the outside border by using my score board and bone folder. Following the My Favorite Things color cue card and sketch below to create this card.

Simon's Wednesday challenge was a "Anything Goes".

Using Outline Images

Hey there, today's card is a Papertrey Ink Make-It-Monday challenge #317 using our outline images. I also am following the My Favorite Things color challenge. The crazy thing is that I have been entering their PTI challenges almost since they began.

I used 110lbs white cardstock and stamped the onsie from the Bitty Baby Blessings set in SU Going Gray ink. The greeting is from the Scripted greetings set. My dots were from the Polka Dot Basics set. This is a really fun color palette from MFT #90 challenge.

Rainy Day

Hello. Hopping you had a great Easter weekend and have now adjusted back to the work week. We are bracing for the next round of snow. Wishing it was Spring and coming to grips that it will be very late this year. Thought I would work on a watercolor card today. The loose blending of colors is my favorite technique lately.

(Close-up to see the pearl.)

I used Tim Holtz watercolor paper today. His is my favorite because it is so white. I taped a piece down to my mat and spritzed it with water then used my Arteza brush pens to add my color. Hitting it with my heat gun between coats. I also used my Kuretake watercolors pearl color to add a bit of metallic to the wash. I dried it totally with my heat gun before stamping the Concord and 9th Hi There Bear set  in Versafine black ink. Then added some Nuvo Crystal Drops to look like rain. Finally I mounted it to a top fold 110lbs white note card. I will enter it in a few challenges. First up is the Less Is More Case challenge.
Below is the card we are CASEing.

Next up is the rain challenge over at Addicted to CAS.

And finally the AAA Cards challenge was to use our favorite technique. Watercolor for me!
