Harvest Wheat

Good Friday afternoon to you. I was playing with a very old stamp today and incorporated it into a ton of challenges. The stamp is Big & Wild Things from a company call gel.a.tins. I don't even know if they are in business anymore. Super fun set of stamps though. I made two cards with this set for the Twofer Challenge: Harvest.
My first card started with a Tim Holtz water color panel that I wet down and used my Arteza Realbrush pens on. When it was dry I spritzed it with water and blotted off the excess. Then stamped the wheat in Versafine black ink. I die cut the With Sympathy from black card stock using a die from Cutplorations. Trimmed the panel down, added it to a Saffron card base with a thin strip of black for an accent.

The second card started with a kraft card base. I stamped the wheat again in Encore copper ink. I used the thanks from The Stamp Markets Double Take set, also stamped in copper. I then took the thank you from the same set and stamped it in Versafine black ink and added a few black Nuvo drops. If you hadn't noticed I really loved Rachel's card sketch on the Less Is More challenge this week. I think I have used it for like ten cards. lol.

This card also fits the CAS On Friday challenge #143:Thanks.
Thank you for stopping by and listening to me ramble on, Sue.

  5. Your twofer designs are stunning, Sue! I am going to try making a background like this with my Arteza brushes; it turned out beautifully and the silhouette grass and sentiment stand out perfectly! I also love the border treatment you added. And how CASlicious is your second kraft card?! I love it! (It looks like a LIM winner to me!) The black sentiment over the copper is brilliant, as is the placement of the Nuvo bling!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #10! Hugs, Darnell

  10. What a super Twofer, Sue! The colours in the background on the sympathy card are deliciously soft and warm ... a fabulous contrast to the bold black wheat silhouette, sentiment and that very fine border trim! The shimmer on your thanks card is beautiful ... such a delicious sheen against the kraft ... stylish and so striking! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer and at Time Out! Anita :)

  11. Whoa - two beauties (and I was only stopping by for the sunset version ;) I'm a sucker for silhouettes on pretty backgrounds and yours is beautiful. Thanks for joining us at CUTplorations this month, Sue. The copper on kraft is stunning too. That smaller sentiment in black is a perfect touch.

  12. Two beautiful cards using this silhouette wheat image, Sue! Love the colours of your watercoloured panel with the black silhouette. Very striking with lots of contrast. Your second card is very organic looking with the kraft card base and copper stamping. The little hits of black from the small thank you and candy dots is just perfect. Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge!
