Fall Mushroom Greetings

Hey there. I loved this new set from Altenew when I saw it. The set is Mushroom Greetings. I used alcohol markers and a white gel pen to color the images. The Altenew Inspiration Challenge this month has a definite fall vibe and so does my card. It was fun to color on the kraft cardstock.

AAA Cards Challenge #249

Hey there. This was a true challenge for me. How do you create a galaxy and keep your card clean and simple? So this is a great challenge at AAA Cards for all of us.

I started with the Ellen Hutson Wonky Backdrops stamp in my stamp positioner. Inking the star background stamp with various ink colors on a white panel. Then using navy ink I carefully inked the stamp using a blending brush to soften the navy over the other colors. Using metallic watercolors I added a bit of splatter.

I added some gold embossed stars from the same set and also heat embossed the greetings form Ellen's Totally Random Sayings on a scrap of vellum. I trimmed my star panel down and tied the vellum strip to the star panel with metallic gold thread. Then using foam tape, I mounted the panel to a navy top folding card base.

We're having a

DT call!

We're looking for a few new Design Team members to start January of 2024.

If you like making CAS cards as we know them, and would like to be on our team, then make a card for this and the next challenge and put DT behind your name.

Our definition of CAS is:

-Minimal noise
-One focus image/point
-Minimal  or no layers (max 3)
-Minimal or no embellishments
-Maximum empty space (empty/white space means no textured cardbase)

See our Design team makes if you're unsure.

The DT call will wrap up with the next challenge.

There's no monetary reward, just your chance to showcase your work and build your name, we all do it because we love it.

the current Admin and DT will choose the players that entered the challenges.

You should have a FB account as we handle most  things DT on FB (chat and upload photos.

A blog is handy to schedule posts, but not a must, just preferred as our challenges go live at 8AM UK time and  as we welcome DT members from all over the World, your time zone might not be the easiest to go live at the right time. If you have an IG or FB business account your can schedule posts.

We would like to invite new DT members from November 1st so you have time to work on the challenges , we've already published the challenges for 2024 so everyone can work ahead, it's important to be able to stick to deadlines.

Also it's important to comment positively on entries from players , and you will have a column. This is most important as we rely on our players for the challenge to exist.

Good luck, if you have any questions, please email Maaike

I can't wait to see what you guys come up with for this out of this world challenge. Sorry, I know that was corny, but I couldn't help it. LOL.

Altenew Pieced Floral- Fall Inspiration

Hey there! I just am loving this photo Altenew has for their September Inspiration Challenge.

My card started with the cardstock strips that I pieced together on my base. Then I stamped and embossed the Sweet Bouquet set. Then I ran it through the die cut machine with the Cross Stitch Canvas Die. The greetings are also from the same stamp set stamped and heat embossed.

Simon Says Stamp is celebrating STAMPTEMBER. WooHoo!! The challenges this week are all about stamping. The Color Throwdown Challenge was using the same palette. Love it! Yay fall.

CAS Colours and Sketches #520

Hey there!  My card for today goes to show you that even a mistake can turn into a fun card. On the CAS Colours and Sketches blog we have a new color challenge.

I had an idea to take the colors, some mini-ink cubes and make swipes of color across my white card. Well, the Lemon went okay then the Costal Cabana was a little wonky but then I dropped the Sky cube on my card front. Grrrr. So I just went with it and dropped two more times to create an abstract panel.

Stamps: The Stamp Market Scripty Sentiments
Cardstock: 110 lbs white
Ink: Concord and 9th
Extras: baker's twine, clear detail embossing powder

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

AAA Cards Challenge #248

Well September means it is truly fall. Hope you are all ready for a new challenge on the AAA Cards blog?

Well, my tag is my entire card base. After die cutting the tag using the Scrapbook.com nesting tags set leaving the top inside the die to create a hinge, I added the peek-a-boo part with the Sizzix Mixed Media 2 die. I backed the window with a vellum tag shape inside the card. Then I die cut 3 of the "Mr and Mrs" from Kaiser Craft and glued them together for a sturdy, stacked greeting.

I added the hole reinforcer, some thin, silk ribbon to the card and stamped PTI Tucked in wedding inside with black ink.

I hope you will plan to join in the fun Ticket/Tag challenge!

Altenew September Inspiration Challenge

Hello. The photo for the Altenew September Challenge has a fall vibe with the color palette. I have several firefighters in our family so the Firefighter Hero set was a must have for me.

I stamped the images on white cardstock in black alcohol friendly ink and colored with alcohol markers. Then fussy cut the images popping some up with foam tape.

I also wanted to enter this fun card in the Anything Goes challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

AAA Birthday Card Challenge #53

Hey there. Sometimes male cards can be hard to create. Deer seems to be my go-to animal for guy cards and with a new animal card challenge up on the AAA Birthday Card blog this was my chance.

Kraft cardstock also tends to work its way in to my guy cards. lol. So starting with a kraft panel I stamped the Yuletide Deer from Stamplorations in four shades of brown. The greeting is from Papertrey Ink, Keep it Simple: Birthday. After trimming the panel, I matted it with dark brown cardstock and mounted it to a top folding kraft card base with foam tape.

Can't wait to see the zoo we all create with our herd of animals! Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Altenew Year-in-Review Inspiration
