AAA Cards Challenge #245

Hi there! I know there are quite a few people that struggle with masculine cards. Hope fully the new challenge on The AAA Cards Blog with flood you with ideas.

Now the tractors at my house are all green so that is the monochromatic palette I went with. I masked off a stripe of my top folding card front and drug three ink pads across. Softening it with a blending brush. Then I stamped the tractor, tracks and greeting in black ink. Here again a simple one layer card but by layering ink you create some depth.

I hope you can join us on this challenge and share your masculine ideas with us also. Just a reminder below about the definition of CAS.

AAA Cards Challenge #244

Hey there. There is a brand new challenge up on the AAA Cards Challenge this morning. Dogs or puppies.

This was a fun card to create. I masked a circle in the upper corner of a top folding white card base. Then using the Arrow Which Way from Stamplorations I blended ink through the stencil in a circle shape. After removing the stencil, I blended a bit more ink to soften the circle image. I stamped the dog on a scrap of white cardstock then cut 2 more shapes to give the dog some depth. The greetings were stamped with black ink on the card front. I added a bit of baker's twine to create a leash for my dog. The dog image and greeting are both from a past My Monthly Hero kit.

Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Altenew Inspiration in July

Hello. I was checking out Michelle's beautiful, soft card and was inspired to join the Altenew Challenge this month.

I can just picture these beautiful hydrangeas. My card uses the circle and arches dies along with the versatile set Sweet Bouquet for a crisp CAS design.

I created a mask with a circle die and blended pink and amethyst ink lightly around the edge of the circle on watercolor paper. Then stamped and heat embossed the Sweet Bouquet image with white detail powder. Using a green dye-based ink I water colored the leaves going slightly outside the lines. The greeting from the same set was also heat embossed and ink blended. The ribbon detail is thin strips of cardstock that I tied in a knot. I always struggle whether I should add more or leave the card as it is. This time I added white gloss Nuvo drops. I am still not sure about them. I took a picture below just in case I didn't like the look. Lol.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my card. Sue

CAS Colours & Sketches #515

Hello. Today we have a new two-week challenge on the CAS Colours and Sketches blog. We are playing with color this time.  My card is super simple using the ink layering technique. This involves just layering darker inks over lighter inks to create depth without dimension.

AAA Birthday Card Challenge #51

Hey there. The AAA Birthday Card Challenge has a new challenge up today. Create a beautiful birthday card with butterflies.

My card started with a white panel and the Showers of Butterflies stencil from Stamplorations. I ink blended three colors of ink, Rich Razzleberry, Pink Passion and Summer Sun over the stencil. Then misted with shimmer spritz and set aside to dry. Then using the Concord and 9th Just saying die I cut and stacked several greetings to give dimension. The happy birthday is from Creative Expression Wordie packages and vellum butterfly is cut with a Martha Stewart punch.

I saw Julie Ebersole use Stickels glitter glue the other day along the edge of the layers of her card. So I tried it here. I love the subtle effect.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will share your butterfly, birthday cards with us on the AAA Birthday Card Challenge.
