AAA Cards Challenge #227

Wow. I am feeling like this year has gone crazy fast. Here we are almost November with a new AAA Cards Challenge.

This is a anything goes challenge but I grabbed onto the black, white and spooky. I started with a white panel that I stamped the greeting and image from Simon Says Stamp Handlettered Halloween in black ink. Then mounted it to a black card base after adding a black, glossy Nuvo drop to the spiders body.

Bold Birthday

Hello and happy fall to you! After being in a tractor cab for the last month I got a chance to create today. I have missed this so much. Today's card is for the Altenew Inspiration Challenge. We are to make a birthday card with a bold background.

I started by blending the ink colors across a white panel then spritzed the panel with shimmer spritz. Then cut the panel in 1/4" strips, gluing them down with a stager. I then trimmed the panel down and added some foam tape to the back of blended panel. This technique in quilting is called Bargello.

I stamped the Captivating Blooms floral image with black ink over my panel. Then stamped the greetings from the Dotted Blooms set on two white strips to create tags. They were tied to card front with black embroidery floss. Using the Martha Stewart butterfly punch, I created some from vellum butterflies for accents. I finally added some glitter glue drops and mounted to a top-folding white card base.

This card turned out so well. I was pleased the results. The pictures to not do justice to the intensity of the colors. Thank you for stopping by, Sue.

AAA Cards Challenge #226

Hey there. Today we have a new challenge on the AAA Cards Challenge blog. This is my favorite kind of challenge, a sketch.

My card uses a favorite technique of mine, ink layering. I like to create depth by layering intensities of ink. I used The Stamp Markets' Double Take set to create a one-layer card. Starting with the bold thanks I used 3 colors of ink, blending them by using my stamp platform. Then layered the navy ink greetings over the bold thanks.

I hope you will plan on joining us for the fun sketch challenge. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

AAA Cards Challenge #225

Hey there! Today's card is for the latest AAA Cards Challenge. We are working on the 1/9th grid again with gnomes as our optional twist. Now I do not own a gnome stamp so I went seasonal with a ghost.

Now if this card doesn't scream CAS, I don't know what does. LOL. Top folding white card with the ghost from Provo Craft stamped in black ink. I then heat embossed the greeting in gold detail powder and added yellow Nuvo drops to his eyes.

Thank you for stopping by, Sue.

Pretty in Pink

Hey there. I had a request for a hot pink, floral retirement card. So... I got busy watercoloring a few panels in shades of pink and green. I did a bit of splatter with gold, metallic watercolors then let the panels dry.

Using the Altenew Fantasy Floral die I cut the rose and leaves from the watercolor panels. I also cut a tag from a metallic gold card stock, popped it up with a bit of foam tape and glued on the rose/leaf cluster.  I trimmed the final panel and adding a bit of washi tape in a metallic gold dot. Then heat embossed with gold detail powder to a strip of vellum using a Congratulations sentiment from Papertrey Ink. I tucked the vellum greeting in the leaves and secured to the background panel with tape on the back. After adding the pink baker's twine to the tag, I attached the panel to a white top-folding card base with more foam tape. My matching envelope was made with my score board from some double-sided scrapbook paper.

I will enter the card in the following challenges:
(Sparkle and Shine)
(Card and Envelope)

AAA Cards Challenge #224

Hello. This is such a fin color palette to play with. I hope you will join us on the AAA Cards Challenge and make a card of your own.

I felt like the Halftone Squares stamp set from Altenew was the perfect spot set to ground my image. Then I stamped and colored the elf image form Ellen Hutson, mounted it with foam tape and mounted the greeting from Kerri Bradford for a bright CAS Christmas card.

Altenew Pink Foliage

Hey there. I watched two videos this week. The first one was Tim Holtz watercolor over a Distress background. The second was Jennifer McGuire using a scoreboard for a background. I wanted to roll these together with the September Altenew challenge.

I started by cutting a panel of white cardstock. I should have used watercolor paper but didn't. I smooched some Distress pealed paint ink on a silicone mat, spritzing with water and dabbing my cardstock into it. Drying between layers of ink. Then I stamped Altenew's Leaf Canopy set with Versafine black ink, heat set and water colored the leaves in with two colors of pink.

Using my scoring board I created a diamond pattern to replicate the fence in the inspiration photo on the stamped panel and a top-folding, white card base.

I stamped and heat embossed the greeting from the same set on vellum and tied it to the stamped panel by wrapping it with metallic gold thread. Then mounted it to the scored card base with foam tape.  Finally, I used a bit of metallic, gold watercolor paint to create the gold splatter.

I will enter this in the Altenew challenge,  the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Monday Make your Own Background challenge. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.
