Good evening. So the Friday challenge over at CAS-Fridays blog was to use ribbon in your clean design card. I took a PTI coaster covered it with adhesive and wove ribbon over the top. This was not as simple as I thought when I started out but I was pleased with the end result. This is .25" grosgrain ribbon from Stampin Up. Colors are burgundy, mustard and eggplant. The white CS, Royal Velvet CS, butterfly dies(2), button and greeting are all From Papertry Ink.
I know that you can't see the coaster but it was key because you needed something sturdy enough to hold the ribbon in place with out warping.
I am tired after this card stamping marathon I have been on and have an excess of cards. I would love to give some card blog candy to anyone who leaves a comment(sorry US only). I will draw someone on Monday to send a package of goodies too.
Hope you all have a pleasant evening,
Sentimentally Sue
Oh my gosh Sue, I just finished posting my "ribbon" card for CAS-ual Fridays and was looking at some of the other entries and spotted yours. I'm sorry mine is so similar, but I truly hadn't looked at the entries until I posted. I wish you luck in the challenge. I guess we'll have to remind ourselves that "great and creative" minds think alike! (so they say).
ReplyDeleteYour card is amazing, (I once made a card like that weaving the ribbon and it took forever)....so I know how much time it took...it looks beautiful!!
