AAA Cards Challenge #252

Hello. If you have not started your Christmas cards now might be a great time to get going on them. We have a new challenge on the AAA Cards blog and it might not be a Christmas challenge but a cool blue color palette to work with.

Starting with a top folding white card base I masked off the tree shape and ink blended a soft blue ink. Then using various greetings and colors of ink I stamped the Technique Tuesdays, Jingle All the Way stamp set. The falala is from Keri Bradford Studio, Wrapped set.

Super simple stamping for a fun CAS, one-layer, Christmas card. I hope you will join us for the cool, color scheme challenge!

Altenew Beauty

Hello. It is a damp, cold morning here in Iowa. I need to create a little sunshine in my office today. I decided to play one more time with Altenew's gorgeous challenge today.

I love to play with a combo of pink and orange. Hannelie's photo has those beautiful colors for our inspiration.

This was a no stamp card. I used Altenew's Peony Dream 3D Die set and the Versatile Greeting 2 die set. I ink blended the challenge colors on some Bristol Smooth cardstock then splattered it with metallic watercolors before cutting the flower layers. This card was all about texture with the vellum ribbon and Cuttlebug embossing folder in the background. I hope you enjoy all the details.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Anything Goes. So this card fits the bill there too. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

Altenew October Inspiration Challenge

Hello Fall! I am playing with the new challenge on the Altenew blog. Hannelie had taken a beautiful photo to inspire us.

I started with a white top folding card that I stamped the Festive Poinsettia stamp in black ink. Then masked off the top of card and ink blended the inspiration colors. Using the Bold Alphabet die set I cut out the letters PEACE. Then placed them back into the panel. I stamped the greeting and heat embossed the greeting with clear detail ink. I covered the flower with glossy accents and sprinkled a bit of glitter over the wet glossy accents. Finally, I mounted the trimmed panel down and added some glitter Stickles around the edge.

I also will enter this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, Text It.

I followed the Freshly Made Sketches sketch by using the letters of the word PEACE and the ink blending in place of the banners to create my horizontal border.

CAS Colours and Sketches #523

Hey there. We are making slimline cards with this new sketch on the CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge.

Now I will preface this with slimline cards are not a favorite with me. The systems I have in place do not play well with the slimline shape but I did the best I could.

Dies: Kaisercraft mr &mrs
Ring Die (unknown)
Cardstock: Stampin'Up!
brushed gold, black, white

So there we go. I look forward to seeing your creations on this CAS slimline challenge.

AAA Cards Challenge #251

 Boo to you!

We have a new spooky challenge up on the AAA Cards Challenge blog.

This was such a fun card to put together. I started with a white top folding card that I stamped the Novel Prose background stamp from Hero Arts in soft gray ink. Then I created a moon stencil with the Infinity Circle dies and ink blended a crescent moon. The greeting from Papertrey Ink was stamped on card front with black ink and on a scrap of white cardstock I also stamped the bat from Tremendous Treats: Halloween set (PTI).

The bat was then colored with alcohol markers, coated with Wink of Stella, fussy cut and mounted to the card front with foam tape.

By layering the stamping and images I left plenty of white space and with only one layer it is very, Clean and Simple.

AAA Birthday Card Challenge #54

Hello. What are your favorite colors? Hot pink and orange come to mind for me. Well, we hope you will share a birthday card with us on the AAA Birthday Card Challenge with your favorite colors.

Taking a white panel, I masked off the top area with post-it tape and then blended pink ink into orange. I then die cut my blended panel with the Bold Text 1 set from Sizzix. I replaced my mask and stamped the candle from Stamplorations' Kathryn's Big Wish set in black ink on both the blended panel and a white top folding card base. To accent the candle and greeting I added a bit of striped washi tape. Glued the panel to the white card base and popped up a small greeting from Creative Expressions Wordies.

We will be joining up with our sister blog AAA Cards for the first two weeks of this challenge. Below is the ink blended card I made for the CAS Challenge on the AAA Cards Blog.

I hope you get a chance to play with both of these challenges this month. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

AAA Cards Challenge #250

Hello. How do you feel about inking blending at least 3 ink colors? I love it and hope you will join the team for this challenge on the AAA Cards Challenge blog.

Using a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock and blending brushes, I blended Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Pink Passion and Rich Razzleberry ink (Stampin' Up ink). I then die cut my panel with the Sizzix Bold Text #1 die and trimmed at an angle. I added the striped washi tape to tie in my sentiment strip from Creative Expressions Wordie Sentiments:Thank You. After mounting the blended panel to a top folding white card base, I popped up the greeting strip with foam tape.
